O objetivo foi verificar como a prática docente, frente ao planejamento, à execução e à avaliação das atividades desenvolvidas em sala de aula, promove ou suprime a negligência de conteúdos do componente curricular de Ciências da Natureza. Realizou-se uma investigação qualitativa do tipo estudo de caso. O locus foi escolas públicas da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre/RS, Brasil. Para a coleta de dados, utilizou-se a entrevista semiestruturada, a partir de uma questão confrontativa baseada na realidade, e a observação direta de aulas. Participaram da entrevista dez professores de Ciências da Natureza do Ensino Fundamental dos anos finais. O método de análise de dados foi a Análise Textual Discursiva. Buscou-se como enfoque a apresentação da categoria emergente “planejamento, execução e avaliação das atividades em aula”, a qual apresenta um maior número de argumentos relacionados àquestão norteadora e ao objetivo da investigação. Por fim, observou-se que a falta de planejamento, a execução das aulas de forma transmissiva e a avaliação baseada na memorização de conceitos, não atendendo às necessidades dos estudantes quanto a sua formação como cidadãos, são fatores relacionados à prática de negligenciar conteúdos no Ensino de Ciências.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar as possíveis relações existentes entre métodos de ensino e aprendizagem e a prática docente, na perspectiva de professores egressos de um Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências e Matemática. A pesquisa possui abordagem qualitativa, tendo a seguinte questão norteadora: qual a compreensão dos professores a respeito dos métodos de ensino e aprendizagem e seus efeitos na prática docente? Participaram 11 professores com formação inicial em diferentes cursos de licenciatura. Para a coleta de dados, utilizou-se um questionário, abordando a prática docente e os métodos de ensino e aprendizagem. Os depoimentos foram analisados por meio da Análise Textual Discursiva. Obtiveram-se 109 unidades de sentido, sendo agrupadas por similaridade em 95 categorias iniciais, 23 categorias intermediárias e três categorias finais, a saber: i) compreensões de métodos de ensino e aprendizagem; ii) efeitos do uso de métodos na prática docente; iii) e obstáculos para o uso de métodos. Os resultados demonstram que a compreensão dos professores a respeito dos métodos está centrada na figura do professor. Além disso, verificou-se que existem obstáculos que podem impedir a utilização dos métodos dentro do ambiente escolar. Por fim, verificou-se o direcionamento das aulas para o ensino tradicional, todavia os professores defendem a diversidade de métodos utilizados em sala de aula.
O artigo apresenta reflexão sobre as transformações ocorridas nos clubes de ciências frente ao cenário cambiante que identifica os tempos atuais. Caracterizado como espaço não formal de aprendizagem, mas fortemente vinculado a instituições escolares, os clubes de ciências mantêm diálogo com premissas que regem o mundo contemporâneo, embora sem perder sua essência de receber crianças e jovens interessados em construir conhecimentos nas áreas de ciências físicas e da natureza. O argumento central sobre o qual as ideias são desenvolvidas nesse texto é: na contemporaneidade, os clubes de ciências mostram-se permeáveis aos condicionantes culturais e sociais, embora preservando seus princípios basilares, como o diálogo, o trabalho cooperativo, a pesquisa e a aproximação com o cotidiano. Em outras palavras, os clubes de ciências abriram-se para outras possibilidades de aprendizagem, conforme é discutido ao longo do texto.
