an Educational Content Validation Instrument in Health was elaborated and validated, presenting good reliability, and may contribute to the practice of researchers and health professionals in the development of educational content.
Indivíduos com limitação auditiva têm seu processo comunicativo prejudicado. Procurou-se explorar aspectos da comunicação da enfermeira com os deficientes auditivos. Estudo descritivo-exploratório, realizado em hospitais de Fortaleza de maio a junho de 2004 mediante entrevistas abertas analisadas qualitativamente. As enfermeiras percebem que é difícil a comunicação com o deficiente auditivo, embora algumas tenham desempenho satisfatório. Nesse processo, algumas referem utilizar tanto a comunicação não verbal, por mímica e leitura labial, como a comunicação verbal oral e escrita. Outras utilizam o acompanhante, quebrando o sigilo da consulta. Para aperfeiçoar a comunicação, sugerese o preparo profissional na graduação e cursos de LIBRAS. Conforme se conclui, existe dificuldade da enfermeira ao se comunicar com o deficiente auditivo.
The goal of this study was to assess educational technology in the string literature about breastfeeding. The study was conducted between March and September 2009 by breastfeeding experts and experts on string literature. A psychometric model was adopted as the theoretical-methodological framework. For data collection, an instrument was used to assess the content about breastfeeding and the string literature rules. The analysis was based on comparisons of the notes and critical reflections of experts. Ethical guidelines were followed during the study. After the assessments, the educational technology was adjusted until all of the experts agreed. The assessment of educational technology can reduce obstacles to information dissemination and can lead to improvements in quality of life.

Tratou-se de pesquisa qualitativa, que utilizou o grupo focal para construção de um conceito de cuidado de enfermagem a ser utilizado no ensino de graduação. In spite of the extensive available literature on surgery patients' preparation and on the performance of surgeries, the focus given to the cancellation of the surgical act has been quite restricted. This study aims at identifying the number of scheduled and cancelled surgeries as well as the services that are mostly affected by such cancellations and was carried out in the surgery service of a big public university hospital located in the metropolitan area of Fortaleza, Ceará. The data were collected through surgery registration books, daily maps of surgery schedules and from the files of patients scheduled for surgery from September to December, 1996. The gathered data were analyzed quantitatively and introduced in charts. The results demonstrate that from the 1,145 surgeries programmed in the selected period, 379 (33%) had been cancelled. The mostly prejudiced services were General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Head and Neck Surgery, Trauma and Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology, Nephrology and Renal Transplant, and Proctology. Further investigation in this area in order to know the determinant causes of surgery cancellation as well as the participation of nursing in the study of this problem are necessary.
Revisão integrativa com objetivo de identificar os domínios da promoção da saúde definidos na conferência de Galway em artigos que utilizam jogos educativos para promoção da saúde em adolescentes. Foi realizada coleta de dados em novembro de 2011, em consulta em bases de dados, obedecendo aos critérios de inclusão: possuir como temática central o uso de jogo educativo para promoção da saúde do adolescente; estar disponível eletrônica e gratuitamente na íntegra; ser classificado como artigo original ou relato de experiência; divulgação em inglês, espanhol ou português; indexado nas bases de dados CINAHL, PubMed, LILACS, Cochrane e Scopus. Foram analisados nove artigos conforme os sete domínios: Catalisar Mudança, Liderança, Avaliação, Planejamento, Implementação, Advocacia, Parceria. Destes, Catalisar Mudança e Implementação foram identificados em todos os estudos. Advocacia foi o único não identificado em nenhum artigo. Apesar da importância dos domínios para promoção da saúde eficaz, nem todos se encontram contemplados nas pesquisas investigadas
This work aimed at clarifying the concept learning in online education, expressed by the literature in the area of health. It is a study of analysis of concept, based on the Evolutionary Model, being highlighted attributes, background, consequents and substitute terms. Learning in the context of online education is characterized by a dynamic and continuous process of active construction of knowledge and acquisition of skills, with physical separation between students and teachers. Among the background events discussed stood out: interest and motivation in learning; dedication and time self-management; and interaction and communication tools. The main evident consequents were: student's autonomy; independent and active study; and construction of own knowledge. The prevailing substitute terms were collaborative learning and self-learning. The understanding of the concept can contribute to its implementation in nursing teaching activities in virtual environments.
It was aimed to measure the quality of life of adults with spinal cord injury and identify domains that affect the quality of life of these individuals. Epidemiological study, conducted in 2007-2008 in Health Basic Units of Campina Grande/PB. There were 47 participants. It was used a questionnaire composed by: sociodemographic variables, etiology of injury; validated instrument to measure quality of life containing four domains: Physical Health, Environmental, Social Relationships and Psychological with their respective facets. The data collected were processed using descriptive and statistical analysis. The domains with lowest scores were: Environmental (55.20 points), Physical health (58.59 points). The facets that compromise the domains: mobility (55.3%), work capacity (55.3%), Financial resources (80.9%), Opportunities for acquiring new information and skills (51%), Participation in and opportunities for recreation/leisure activities (68.1%) and Sexual activity (34%). Results express the dissatisfaction of participants with quality of life. Nurses should contribute to rehabilitation and social reinsertion of those people, respecting their limitations, emphasizing the remaining potential and capacity for self-care.
