O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar a incidência da sífilis congênita no Ceará de 2000 a 2009; descrever o perfil epidemiológico das gestantes cujos recém-nascidos tiveram sífilis congênita e verificar a realização do pré-natal e do tratamento dos seus parceiros. Trata-se de estudo documental, realizado em julho de 2010 a partir do banco de dados disponível no Núcleo de Informação e Análise em Saúde, que contém as informações das fichas do Sistema Nacional de Agravos de Notificação. Foram notificados 2.930 casos de sífilis congênita, demonstrando uma série histórica ascendente ano a ano. A maioria das gestantes realizou pré-natal (2.077; 70,9%), possuía de 20 a 34 (1.836; 62,7%) anos, nenhuma ou pouca escolaridade (1.623; 55,4%), O tratamento inadequado das gestantes e a falta de tratamento dos parceiros mostraram-se como realidade no SUS-CE. A incidência de sífilis congênita é um indicador da qualidade da assistência pré-natal. Logo, seu aumento nos últimos dez anos ressalta a necessidade de ações voltadas para seu controle.

Health literacy, a more complex concept than knowledge, is a required capacity to obtain, understand, integrate and act on health information [1], in order to enhance individual and community health, which is defined by different levels, according to the autonomy and personal capacitation in decision making [2]. Medium levels of Health literacy in an adolescent population were found in a study conducted in 2013/2014, being higher in sexual and reproductive health and lower in substance use. It was also noticed that the higher levels of health literacy were in the area adolescents refer to have receipt more health information. The health literacy competence with higher scores was communication skills, and the lower scores were in the capacity to analyze factors that influence health. Higher levels were also found in younger teenagers, but in a higher school level, confirming the importance of health education in these age and development stage. Adolescents seek more information in health professionals and parents, being friends more valued as a source information in older adolescents, which enhance the importance of peer education mainly in older adolescents [3]. As a set of competences based on knowledge, health literacy should be developed through education interventions, encompassing the cultural and social context of individuals, since the society, culture and education system where the individual is inserted can define the way the development and enforcement of the health literacy competences [4]. The valued sources of information should be taken into account, as well as needs of information in some topics referred by adolescents in an efficient health education. Schizophrenia is a serious and chronic mental illness which has a profound effect on the health and well-being related with the well-known nature of psychotic symptoms. The exercise has the potential to improve the life of people with schizophrenia improving physical health and alleviating psychiatric symptoms. However, most people with schizophrenia remains sedentary and lack of access to exercise programs are barriers to achieve health benefits. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of exercise on I) the type of intervention in mental health, II) in salivary levels of alpha-amylase and cortisol and serum levels of S100B and BDNF, and on III) the quality of life and selfperception of the physical domain of people with schizophrenia. The sample consisted of 31 females in long-term institutions in the Casa de Saúde Rainha Santa Isabel, with age between 25 and 63, and with diagnosis of schizophrenia according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR). Physical fitness was assessed by the six-minute walk distance test (6MWD). Biological variables were determined by ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay). Psychological variables were assessed using SF-36, PSPP-SCV, RSES and SWLS tests. Objective: to build an educational hypermedia about nursing care at usual risk birth and to perform validation of content and appearance. Method: methodological research carried out following the following stages: content and planning of modules; media production and organization of tutorial units; organization of student space, tutor and communication between them; availability of hypermedia; assessment by experts in nursing and informatics; and implementation of proposed suggestions. Results: educational hypermedia showed to be a validated material, since it presented an optimum index of global content of 0.97 and statistical significance in the binomial test for the content and appearance. Conclusion: it is believed that the use of this material with undergraduate students in nursing will contribute to the quality of obstetric care, considering that it is an illustrated technology capable of favoring teaching-learning about normal humanized childbirth.

O processo de feminização da infecção pelo HIV aumenta o risco da transmissão vertical (TV), principal via de infecção pelo vírus na população infantil. Nesse contexto, destaca-se o papel fundamental do enfermeiro, que presta assistência direta e contínua às mães soropositivas e crianças expostas ao vírus, como peça fundamental na promoção da saúde do binômio mãe-filho. O estudo teve como objetivo refletir sobre a TV do HIV na conjuntura da promoção da saúde e do cuidado de enfermagem. Percebeu-se que o enfermeiro é um importante agente na busca pela implementação dos cuidados preconizados desde o período pré-concepcional, pré-natal, parto até o puerpério. Verificou-se ainda a importância das ações educativas como um dos principais elementos para a promoção da saúde na interface da TV do HIV, por constatar-se sua contribuição para o estabelecimento de uma relação dialógica entre enfermeiros, gestantes e puérperas soropositivas, visando à prevenção da TV do vírus.

Introduction: congenital syphilis is a systemic infectious disease of chronic evolution caused by the Treponema pallidum bacterium dissemination to the fetus through the placenta of infected pregnant women untreated or treated improperly, occurring at any stage of pregnancy or clinical stage of the disease. Objective: epidemiological analysis of congenital syphilis in the State of Ceará from 2007 to 2010. Methods: documentary study conducted in March, 2013, through the database available at the Center for Information and Analysis in Health which keep the information about the National System of Notifiable Diseases records. There were 1,577 notifications of congenital syphilis cases. Results: the following results were observed: 71.78% (n = 1,132) of women who had their children diagnosed with congenital syphilis attented to prenatal consultation; 46.16% (n = 728) had a diagnosis of syphilis identified only during delivery/curettage; about 69.5% (n = 1,096) of pregnant women partners did not undergo any treatment for congenital syphilis. It was noted that over 90% of children were diagnosed with congenital syphilis until the sixth day of birth, and the most prevalent final classification was recent syphilis with 83.83% (n = 1,322) of cases. The most common clinical evolution for children had a favorable outcome, as more than 75% of them underwent treatment and remained alive during the studied period. Conclusion: the thorough analysis of congenital syphilis cases and the factors involved in the process are of fundamental importance to support the actions to prevent and control the disease.
