Nowadays the process of teaching and learning in Malaysia (especially in terms of Moral Education) are still unable to promote moral reasoning and critical thinking. Thus, the solution to this predicament is to provide teachers with an effective module for the development of moral reasoning and critical thinking among students. The purpose of this research was 1) to describe the usage of the ADDIE model for the development of a Philosophical Inquiry approach in Moral Education (PIME) modules, and 2) to identify the content validity of the module. The ADDIE model contained five phases, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Then, the researchers conducted a survey to assess the content validity of the module. The researchers also made some changes to the stimulus materials to fit the duration of the Moral Education lessons. The data were validated by six experts in the fields of Philosophical Inquiry and Moral Education. The results showed that the PIME module had a high content validity (>70 percent). It meant that this module was validated and ready for use.
Iklim sekolah yang kondusif merupakan salah satu faktor luaran yang berupaya memberi kesan terhadap kualiti pengajaran guru. Namun, realiti dunia pendidikan kini sedang menghadapi cabaran dalam aspek penyediaan iklim sekolah yang kondusif. Kajian ini dilakukan bagi mengenal pasti tahap iklim sekolah, tahap pelaksanaan pengajaran guru berpandukan pedagogi produktif serta hubungan antara iklim sekolah dengan pelaksanaan pengajaran guru berpandukan pedagogi produktif. Kajian berbentuk kajian tinjauan ini melibatkan seramai 454 orang GPI telah terpilih sebagai sampel kajian menggunakan teknik pensampelan rawak berstrata berkadar. Data kajian dikumpul melalui set borang soal selidik dan dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensi menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) versi 26.0. Secara keseluruhannya, tahap iklim sekolah dilaporkan berada pada tahap tinggi (min = 4.05) dengan dimensi rakan sejawat memperoleh skor min yang paling tinggi (min=4.41). Tahap pelaksanaan pengajaran GPI berpandukan pedagogi produktif juga berada pada tahap tinggi (min = 4.25) dengan dimensi pengiktirafan perbezaan memperoleh skor min yang paling tinggi (min=4.38). Keputusan ujian korelasi Pearson mendapati wujudnya hubungan yang signifikan positif antara iklim sekolah dengan pelaksanaan pengajaran GPI berpandukan pedagogi produktif dengan kekuatan sederhana (r=0.480, p < 0.05). Kajian ini memberi implikasi bahawa GPI wajar mempertingkatkan kualiti pengajaran dari masa ke semasa seperti menggunakan pendekatan pedagogi produktif. Kajian ini juga memberi implikasi kepada pentadbir sekolah agar memastikan iklim sekolah kekal kondusif demi keselesaan guru menjalankan tugas pengajaran seperti menyelenggara sumber sekolah secara konsisten. Hal ini adalah bertepatan dengan dasar pendidikan negara Malaysia untuk meningkatkan kecekapan penyediaan infrastruktur asas di semua sekolah.
Quran memorization is not a new practice but a continuation from the practice of Prophet Muhammad SAW and maintaining the memorization of the Quran is a huge responsibility as it requires enormous effort and discipline. The lack of knowledge, memory strategies and effective methods in memorizing the Quran could deteriorate the performance of the memory. This study aims to explore the specific memory strategies in Quran memorization. A review of literature was conducted on the journal articles between the year 2015 to 2020 through library sources in accessing websites like Web of Science Database, Scopus Database, Science Direct, SAGE Journal and Wiley Online Library. The analysis found that studies related to memory strategies are mainly experimental across the field of neuroscience, medical and linguistics while not many in the field of Islamic education. This review explains and outlines eight educational strategies in memorizing the Quran involving the internal and external strategies: attention to Quranic verses either verbally or visually, repetition, understanding, organizing, exercise, balanced diet, sufficient sleep and memory aids especially in the application of technology. This review is hoped to guide the students and teachers in improving their Quran memorization as well as positively influence the memory performance.
The gamification method is one of the 21st century teaching methods that combines learning content with mechanical elements of a game. Nowadays, this method is widely used by teachers while teaching online by using various free applications on the internet such as Kahoot!, Quizizz, Quizlet, Wordwall, and Qimkit. This study aims to identify the level of interest and acceptance of students on gamification methods in teaching and facilitation (PdPc) Islamic History. Quantitative research methods were used on 118 years four students in a primary school. Respondents were selected by simple random sampling. The results of the study showed that the level of interest and acceptance of primary school students towards gamification method in Sirah teaching is at a high level. It’s means that the level of interest and acceptance of students on gamification methods during PdPc is positive in that primary school. Implications of this study is to provide guidance for teachers in preparing and providing appropriate learning for the 21st century generations. Keyword: Interest, Student acceptance, Gamification, Islamic History and 21st century Education Abstrak Kaedah gamifikasi merupakan salah satu kaedah pengajaran abad ke-21 yang menggabungkan antara isi kandungan pembelajaran dengan unsur-unsur mekanik permainan. Kini, kaedah ini banyak digunakan oleh guru-guru semasa mengajar secara atas talian dengan menggunakan pelbagai aplikasi percuma di internet seperti Kahoot!, Quizizz, Quizlet, Wordwall, dan Qimkit. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap minat dan penerimaan pelajar terhadap penggunaan kaedah gamifikasi dalam pengajaran dan pemudahcaraan (PdPc) Sirah Pendidikan Islam. Kaedah penyelidikan kuantitatif telah digunakan terhadap 118 orang pelajar tahun empat di sebuah sekolah rendah. Responden dipilih dengan persampelan rawak mudah bertujuan. Hasil kajian mendapati tahap minat dan penerimaan pelajar sekolah rendah terhadap penggunaan kaedah gamifikasi dalam PdPc Sirah berada pada tahap tinggi. Ini menunjukkan bahawa penggunaan kaedah gamifikasi semasa PdPc adalah positif di sekolah rendah tersebut. Implikasi kajian ini dapat memberi petunjuk kepada guru-guru dalam penyediaan pembelajaran yang sesuai kepada generasi abad ke-21. Kemajuan teknologi masa kini menyaksikan perubahan dalam lanskap pendidikan yang banyak mengubah corak pengajaran dan pembelajaran masa kini seiring dengan pendidikan abad ke 21. Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia Pendidikan Tinggi (PPPM PT) 2015-2025 juga sangat memberi penekanan terhadap penggunaan teknologi maklumat dan transformasi penyampaian proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Pelan ini meletakkan lonjakan kesembilan iaitu pembelajaran dalam talian tahap global untuk transformasi sistem pendidikan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi maklumat bagi meningkatkan kualiti pembelajaran di Malaysia. Perkara ini juga bertepatan dengan Pendidikan 4.0 yang mengketengahkan kemahiran abad 21 yang sangat penting untuk diaplikasikan dalam pendidikan. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) merupakan satu platform yang diperkenalkan sebagai satu pendekatan baru dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Walaupun MOOC didapati dapat menambahbaik pengajaran dan meningkatkan penglibatan pelajar, terdapat banyak kajian lepas menunjukkan kesediaan pelajar menggunakan MOOC masih berada di tahap sederhana. Justeru, kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenalpasti halangan utama penggunaan MOOC dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran serta mengenalpasti perbezaan dari segi halangan penggunaan MOOC oleh pelajar mengikut demografi di sebuah politeknik di zon selatan. Kajian secara kuantitatif ini dijalankan dengan mentadbir soal selidik kepada 213 orang pelajar untuk mendapatkan maklum balas. Data diukur dengan menggunakan skala likert 1 hingga 5 dan dianalisis menggunakan Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) untuk melihat analisis deskriptif dan inferensi kepada. Kesahan soal selidik juga telah dijalankan dan nilai alpha bagi soal selidik ialah, α = 0.887. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan sumber liputan internet/wifi menjadi halangan utama penggunaan MOOC dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran walaupun pelajar memberikan komitmen dan bermotivasi untuk menggunakan MOOC.
This study aims to examine the level of multimedia usage among Islamic education lecturers at higher education institutions in West Sumatera, Indonesia. The participants were chosen from three types of higher institutions by using stratified random sampling. The data was collected from 250 students using questionnaires. The findings showed that the use of multimedia was moderate and there were significant differences in the use of multimedia based on gender, academic qualification, location of teaching and number of workloads. The finding also showed that there was no significant difference in the use of multimedia based on training experience. This study also found that there were significant differences in the use of multimedia based on age, type of institution and teaching experience.
The development of technology in the era of the borderless world has grown rapidly in the entire field of human life, including in the field of education. The rapid development in science and technology led to the dissemination of information and knowledge through classroom also changed. Teachers as educators cannot refrain from directly involved in all activities related to information technology. These challenges provide an opportunity for educators to modify the teaching and learning process to become to become more active and more student-centred. This study draws to this issue by investigating the knowledge, skills, and the use of ICT and attitudes of Excellent Islamic Education teachers towards ICT. The participants were 70 Excellent Islamic Education teachers in Selangor, Malaysia. Data is collected using a questionnaire and the findings are analysed by using SPSS software 19.0. The results of the descriptive analysis involving the mean and standard deviation indicate that the knowledge and teachers' attitudes towards ICT to be at the high level. While the skills and the use of ICT among the teachers at a moderate level. The result also revealed that there is a significant relationship between ICT knowledge and teachers' attitude towards ICT. However, the strength of the relationship is very weak. There is also a significant relationship between ICT skills and teachers' attitude towards ICT and the strength of the relationship is also weak. Finding also shows there is a significant relationship between the use of ICT and teachers' attitude and the strength of the relationship is at moderate level. In conclusion, the use of ICT in teaching and learning of Excellent Islamic Education teachers is very important to determine the objectives achieved. Excellent teachers should consider that ICT only act as a complement, additional tools or aids to teachers who play the key role in delivering information using teaching methods that are more dynamic and efficient; rather than take the place or role of the teacher.
