Purpose-This paper aims to map the creation and evolution of centering resonance analysis (CRA). This method was an innovative approach developed to conduct textual content analysis in a semi-automatic, theory-informed and analytically rigorous way. Nevertheless, despite its robust procedures to analyze documents and interviews, CRA is still broadly unknown and scarcely used in management research. Design/methodology/approach-To track CRA's development, the roadmapping approach was properly adapted. The traditional time-based multi-layered map format was customized to depict, graphically, the results obtained from a systematic literature review of the main CRA publications. Findings-In total, 19 papers were reviewed, from the method's introduction in 2002 to its last tracked methodological development. In all, 26 types of CRA analysis were identified and grouped in five categories. The most innovative procedures in each group were discussed and exemplified. Finally, a CRA methodological roadmap was presented, including a layered typology of the publications, in terms of their focus and innovativeness; the number of analysis conducted in each publication; references for further CRA development; a segmentation and description of the main publication periods; main turning points; citationbased relationships; and four possible future scenarios for CRA as a method. Originality/value-This paper offers a unique and comprehensive review of CRA's development, favoring its broader use in management research. In addition, it develops an adapted version of the roadmapping approach, customized for mapping methodological innovations over time.
This paper presents an innovative application of event structure analysis (ESA). The key improvements incorporated on the method are: (i) a robust system for coding events; (ii) the use of causal process tracing tests for inferring necessary connections; (iii) the combination of ESA with network analyses. Finally, we propose five types of analysis for event network models (
i.e.,
critical elements, critical associations, critical connections, critical specific happenings, and critical antecedents) and exemplify some of them in a causal case study about the process of capability construction for open innovation management in an Industrial Electronic Manufacturer.

Inúmeros estudos têm ressaltado o desafio de empresas para gerir a inovação de forma sistemática. Vertente mais recente tem explorado casos em que essa prática está atrelada à constituição de uma função organizacional específica (i.e. Função Inovação - FI). O conceito de função organizacional adotado nesse contexto é a existência de um grupo de pessoas identificável com uma missão definida na organização. Apesar de tal avanço, demanda-se maior entendimento acerca de como a Função Inovação se consolida ao longo do tempo no ambiente organizacional. O presente artigo traz um estudo da dinâmica de implantação dessa função em um grupo industrial brasileiro. A partir de levantamento longitudinal de 3,5 anos que mapeou a sequência de eventos envolvendo o time de trabalho da FI, buscou-se compreender como se deu o desdobramento de suas atribuições (e.g. geração de ideias, gestão de portfólio, busca por fomento e incentivos fiscais, formação de parcerias). Ao final, o estudo apresenta considerações sobre a dinâmica do processo de consolidação da FI, sugere relações causais entre diferentes atribuições para posterior aprofundamento e identifica as atribuições mais relevantes para o caso analisado.
