Un nouveau courant de recherche, en matière de stratégie d'entreprise, s'appuie sur l'hypothèse suivante : l'une des clefs du processus stratégique, peut-être la seule, réside dans la pensée des dirigeants, dans ses contenus et dans ses mécanismes. C'est cette approche cognitive de la stratégie, en rapide développement aujourd'hui mais encore relativement peu connue en France, que décrivent ici les auteurs. Ils en présentent les différents aspects et ses apports, mais aussi ses limites et ses risques avant de s'interroger sur ses perspectives aussi bien théoriques que pratiques.

Cet article s'intéresse aux actions mises en oeuvre par les entreprises innovantes afin d'influencer le contexte institutionnel et réglementaire. L'innovation se trouve en effet confrontée, par nature, à un environnement institutionnel non adapté, voire contraignant. Comment, dans ce cas, les entreprises innovantes parviennent-elles à modifier cet environnement dans un sens qui soit favorable à leurs innovations ? Cet article propose un cadre théorique pour l'analyse de la stratégie politique ou « hors marché » de l'entreprise innovante. Six configurations types ont été identifiées selon l'impact concurrentiel d'une innovation et le rôle de la décision publique dans la diffusion de l'innovation.Ces configurations amènent à des stratégies d'influence différentes de la part des entreprises innovantes. Une seconde partie développe, sous forme d'hypothèses, les différentes formes et modes d'influence pouvant être émises par l'entreprise innovante.
