This study sought to verify strategic human resources management's influence on hotel performance by analysing data on managers of hotels located in Grande Florianópolis, Brazil. Bibliographical research was conducted to provide a theoretical framework to support the analysis, and a descriptive methodology approach based on the positivist paradigm was applied. The proposed model was subjected to exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling. The sample consisted of 70 hotel managers, and the data were collected with a closed-ended questionnaire. The results show that, of the 32 variables studied, 13 variables are connected to high performance in medium-sized hotels in Grande Florianópolis. In addition, the analyses confirmed the validity of the proposed model, in which strategic human resources management is directly related to hotel performance. The findings include that employee training and development, as well as workplace structuring, are strategic human resources management practices essential to achieving higher performance.
This scientific investigation studied the precedents of organizational performance, researching the relation between Innovative Capabilities and its relationship with Performance, and this relation with the mediation of Services Differentiation. For the qualitative methodology, aiming to identify the control items of the Service Differentiation measurement scale in the supermarket context. For the quantitative stage, the techniques of multivariate data analysis were used, such as Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling, to assess the proposed model. The results found regarding the hypothesis tests demonstrated that the 1º hypothesis - Innovative capabilities have a positive relation with Services Differentiation was supported. 2º Hypothesis - Differentiation has a positive and significant relationship with performance, and it is therefore supported. 3º Hypothesis - Service Differentiation mediates the relationship between Innovative Capability and Performance - was supported.
This investigation aims to analyze the relationship between Dynamic Marketing Capabilities and Strategic Human Resource Management as predictors of Performance in Santa Catarina Executive Hotels. To achieve this objective, already validated scales were used. To analyze the Dynamic Marketing Capability, the scale developed by Desarbo et al. (2005) was used. For Strategic Human Resource Management, the scale developed by Barreto (2011) was chosen, and for the dependent variable, the scale developed by Carvalho (2012). The data collection was carried out through the survey technique, along with 259 managers of the Executive Hospitality of Santa Catarina. For data analysis, the softwares EXCEL, SPSS-IBM, and AMOS-IBM were used to gather data. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) tests, and structural equation modeling (SEM) were used to achieve the research objective. The obtained results confirm the positive and significant relationship between Dynamic Marketing Capability and Strategic Human Resource Management as predictors of superior performance in Santa Catarina's executive hospitality.
The protection of critical infrastructures has become a concern for the achievement of the strategic purposes of countries and organizations. Brazilian government began to demand from port facilities the compulsory structuring of protective measures to meet demands agreed with international entities, such as the development of security risk analysis plans. This study provides a constructivist approach to the analysis of security risks in port facilities, enhancing the understanding of its managers from a multi-criteria perspective. Thus, the assumptions of the MCDA-C methodology were employed in a study case conducted at the Santa Catarina Port Terminal. However, as a result, it was possible to include in the same model technical aspects associated with the structuring of planning and risk analysis and subjective aspects of how a manager attributes greater relevance to elements that influence his performance regarding the safety of the port facility.
