This research aims to describe the effect of using mind mapping technique to writing skill the fable story text student in grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Bukittinggi. This research data is a score in the skills of writing the story fable text not with and by using mind mapping techniques. The type of this research is quantitative research done using experiment design. The results of this study are the skill of writing fable story text students in grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Bukittinggi not by using mind mapping technique stay in qualification more than enough (LdC) and the skill of writing the fable story text students in grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Bukittinggi by using mind mapping technique is qualification good (B). Based on t-test concluded that the use of technic mind mapping influence the skill of writing the fable story text because ttabel<thitung (1,70<2,74). This study aims at revealing the difference in the ability to reading to the aloud two groups of students, design true experimental is posttest only control design and pretest-postest control group design. The data collection instrument was a test given to the 7 th grade SMPN students of North Mandrehe. Reading is a basic skill to master various fields of study and the primary key to learning other skills. Whereas reading aloud is a voice reading skill, activating, and using the mouth, eyes, and brain. Reading aloud in uttering the sound of language requires various skills, namely, pronunciation and intonation in saying it include vowels, consonants, diphthongs and clusters / consonant clusters. The results showed that there were significant differences in the ability to the students' reading aloud who were taught by Explicit Instruction Learning methods better than students who were taught by conventional methods. So it is strongly recommended for Indonesian language subject teachers to use the Explicit Instruction method to improve students' reading ability.
This study aims to: (1) explain the contribution of learning motivation to the writing skills of exposition text of class X MAN 1 Bukittinggi students; (2) explain the contribution of vocabulary mastery to the writing skills of exposition text of class X MAN 1 Bukittinggi students; (3) explain the contribution of learning motivation and vocabulary mastery to the writing skills of exposition text of class X MAN 1Bukittinggi students. The sample of the study of the total population in each class is 43 students. The data of this research are the score taken from the result of learningmotivation questionnaire, the score of vocabulary test, and the score of test of exposition text writing skill. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the motivation of learning and mastery of vocabulary can be used as a predictor to improve the results of learning skills of writing exposition text. Therefore, to improve learning outcomes in writing skills, the students are given the motivation to learn writing and mastering vocabulary.
The purpose of this study is to describe the following matters. First, it describes the reading skills of students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. Second, describe the news writing skills of VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. Third, it describes the correlation between reading comprehension skills and news writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The results of this study are three. First, reading comprehension skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang are in good qualifications. This was concluded based on an average count of 81.13. Second, the writing skills of news texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of the average news text writing test count of 81.25. Third, there is a significant correlation between reading comprehension skills and news writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%. The null hypothesis is rejected and the work hypothesis is accepted because the test result prove the t value is greater than t table 3.81 > 1.68. Based on the result of the study above, it was concluded about the knowledge of reading skills in reading news texts of eight grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang.Kata Kunci: korelasi, membaca pemahaman, menulis teks berita
The purpose of this study consists of three things as follows. First, it describes the level of reading skills in understanding the short stories of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang. Secondly, it describes the level of short story writing skills of students of VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang. Third, describe the relationship between reading skills understanding short stories and short story writing skills of students of VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang. The variables of this research are the short story comprehension reading skills as the X variable and the short story writing text writing skills as the Y variable. The research data were the scores of the short story reading comprehension test skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang and the scores of the results of the short story writing skills text review of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang. The results of this study consisted of three things as follows. First, the reading skills of the short story comprehension of Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang are in the Qualification More Than Enough with an average count of 67.01. Second, the short story writing skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang in short story writing are in the Fair qualifications with an average count of 62.15.
