An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of the ratio of leaf removal from bottom of plants (0, 4, 8 and 12 leaves/plant) shortly before flowering on yield components and some quality characters of sunflower ecotypes.According to ecotype averages, seed setting, seed yield, kernel ratio, crude oil and crude protein contents in seed, crude oil yield and crude protein yield changed with different degree of leaf removal. Head diameter, seed setting, seed yield, 1000-seed weight, kernel ratio, crude oil, crude protein content, crude oil yield and crude protein yield varied with degree of leaf defoliation of some ecotypes while these characters were not affected by defoliation in other ecotypes.

Özet: Bu çalışma, Tarm-92 iki sıralı arpa çeşidi tohumlarına uygulanan farklı dozlarda gama ışınının (200, 300, 400 ve 500 Gy) M2 bitkilerinde bazı tarımsal özellikler üzerine etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma Isparta koşullarında 2016-2017 vejetasyon döneminde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada kontrol (ışın uygulanmamış), 200, 200 A, 300, 300 A, 400, 400 A, 400 A (Ç.B.) 500 ve 500 A gray dozları olmak üzere toplam 10 parsel yer almıştır. Parsellere dekara 10 kg/da azot ve 6 kg/da fosfor (P2O5) hesabıyla gübre uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada gama ışınlarının bitki boyu, başak uzunluğu, başakta tane sayısı ve başakta tane ağırlığı üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; ortalama bitki boyu kontrolde 72.10 cm, M2 generasyonunda 55.19-70.22 cm; başak uzunluğu kontrolde 8.71 cm, M2 generasyonunda 7.43-9.13 cm; başakta tane sayısı kontrolde 23.49 adet, M2 generasyonunda 20.36-23.42 adet, başakta tane ağırlığı kontrolde 2.73 g iken M2 generasyonunda 1.25-2.46 g arasında değişim göstermiştir. İncelenen özelliklerden bitki boyu, başakta tane sayısı, başakta tane ağırlığında kontrol grubuna göre gama radyasyon uygulaması ile genel olarak azalma, başak uzunluğunda artış gözlemlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; 300 ve 400 Gy uygulamalarında incelenen özellikler yönünden daha fazla varyasyonun meydana geldiği belirlenmiştir.

Prior {Lolium perenne × Festuca pratensis) and Elmet (Lolium multiflorum × Festuca pratensis) cultivars were compared with Festuca pratensis Huds. and Lolium multiflorum Lam. genotypes for some agronomical characteristics (green and dry matter yields, crude protein, seed yield, crude ash content) under Erzurum ecological conditions. Analysis of variance and mean separation were performed using the SPSS 11.0 computer program. There was a significant difference among genotypes in every character tested except for green and dry matter yield and crude ash content. Hybrid genotypes had higher plant height, dry and green matter yield, seed yield per plant and crude protein yield except 1000-seed weight. Elmet performed better than Prior except for seed yield per plant.

Artificial autotetraploids of diploid perennial rye (Secale montanum Guss) plants were obtained by colchicine treatment. C 1 C 2 and C 3 generations of autotetraploid perennial rye were compared for seed set and cytological characteristics such as irregularities in metaphase I (univalents) and anaphase I and II (lagging chromosomes and/or chromatids and bridge formation) and micronuclei in tetrads. In the three generations (C 1 C 2 and C 3) the percentage of cells with univalents was 18.51, 14.56 and 9.38% respectively. The percentage of cells with irregular anaphase I with univalents was 23.43, 15.93 and 7.85%, and for anaphase II cells it was 20.93, 16.47 and 7.16. The percentage of tetrads with micronuclei was 18.17, 14.07 and 6.17% and seed set was 27.72, 43.51 and 59.59% respectively. A negative correlation was found between seed set and the cytological characteristics investigated. The correlations among the characters investigated during meiosis division were statistically significant. Selection of vigorous plants of autotetraploid perennial rye increased seed setting by increasing the cytological balance. However, abnormalities in the early stage of meiosis division were reflected in the later stages of meiosis.

Öz: Bu araştırmada, azotlu gübre uygulamalarının ve hasat zamanının tane verimi ve bazı kalite özelliklerine etkisi belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, tritikalenin erken hasat edilerek firik olarak kullanılabilme olanağı araştırılmıştır. Araştırma, Bölünen Bölünmüş Parseller Deneme Desenine uygun olarak 3 tekerrürlü kurulmuştur. Ana parsellere çeşitler [2 makarnalık (Çeşit-1252 ve Kızıltan-91) ve 2 tritikale (Ümran Hanım ve Karma-2000) çeşidi], alt parsellere azotlu gübreler [NitroPower33 ve (yavaş salınımlı) Dinitroso], alt alt parsellere ise hasat zamanı [3 hasat zamanı (erken hamur olum, sert hamur olum ve tam olum)] yerleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; nem oranı (%13,92-42,29), protein oranı (%13,99-16,90), kül oranı (%1,48-1,61), 1000-tane ağırlığı (27,2-32,0 g), hektolitre ağırlığı (72,72-78,67 kg) ve tane verimi (173,05-287,47 kg da -1 ) üzerine hasat zamanının etkisinin istatistiksel olarak önemli olduğu belirlenmiştir. Olum döneminin ilerlemesine bağlı olarak tanenin nem ve protein oranı azalmasına karşın, kül oranı, 1000-tane ağırlığı, hektolitre ağırlığı ve tane verimi artmıştır. Farklı gübre uygulamalarının tanenin nem içeriğine, 1000-tane ağırlığına, hektolitre ağırlığına ve tane verimine etkisinin önemsiz; protein oranına (NP33: %14.98 ve Dinitroso: %16,50) ve kül oranına (NP33: %1,50 ve Dinitroso: %1,58) etkisinin ise önemli olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, tritikalenin erken hasat edilerek firik amacıyla kullanılabileceği, makarnalık buğday ve tritikalenin firik amacıyla sert hamur olum döneminde hasat edilmesinin uygun olduğu belirlenmiştir.

This research was conducted in Isparta, Turkey ecological condition to investigate the effects of different zinc application doses on some quality parameters of bread (Gün-91, Altay-2000) and durum (Kızıltan-91, Kunduru-1149) wheat cultivars. The experiment was set up with three replications according to the randomized complete block design with a split-plot design. The cultivars took place in the main plots whereas the zinc application doses (0, 9, 18, 27 and 36 kg ha -1 Zn) were in the sub-plots. Phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers providing 40 kg ha -1 of P 2 O 5 and 80 kg ha -1 of N were applied to the plots. According to the result of variance analysis, different zinc application in wheat cultivars had significant effect on the grain quality parameters. But zinc fertilization had no effect on test weight. The effect of Zn treatment found statistically important on sedimentation and wet gluten content of flour, Zn, P and crude protein contents of bran and flour. In all cultivars, Zn application increased sedimentation, wet gluten content, protein, Zn content and P content in bran. However, the Zn application decreased the amount of P in flour. Also, protein, Zn and P contents were higher in the bran than in the flour. In the research results, it was found that Zn application had a positive effect on quality parameters, but high Zn doses affected both grain yield and quality parameters negatively.
