In teaching and learning process, teacher may use certain learning strategies or methods. Virtual discussion, for instance, it can be done to encourage students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. This activity provides an opportunity for students to sit and listen as they speak and think critically, logically, and rationally. Moreover, students get better results when they work together than those who study individually. This survey research conducted to find out the correlation among virtual discussion with cognitive, affective, and psychomotor of 110 students in IKIP Budi Utomo Malang. The result shows that the virtual discussion has strong correlation not only in cognitive domain, but also it has strong correlation with affective and psychomotor domain. Almost all significant values are positive. There is only one negative significant value between cognitive and affective. Thus, it illustrates that the increasing of cognitive domain by applying virtual discussion is not always followed by the increasing of affective domain.
The purpose of this research is the digitization of regional languages. The form of technology that will be developed is a digital conservation and revitalization program. There are 2 stages in this program: 1) the development stage, namely the development of language learning applications. Inspired by the Duolingo application, the application for learning international languages, the application is the local version by prioritizing the values of local wisdom of the local language being studied. The basic concept of this application is to document regional languages by teaching them. This application is designed to be accessible to anyone who wants to know or learn a certain regional language through a smartphone. The features in this application product will focus on four language skills with tiered levels, each of which is presented in different themes. There will be several choices of regional languages that can be learned, the final target of developing this application is to document all regional languages of the archipelago. As an initial project, this program will digitize two regional languages in East Java, namely Javanese and Madurese. 2) socialization, education, and promotion that will be carried out in several forms of activities targeting all communities at all levels. On campus, the target is to form a community that cares about the preservation of regional languages among academics; Among students to grow the importance of preserving regional languages and make applications that will be developed as a reference to support the teaching of regional languages in schools; and society.
In phonology, students will be familiar with phonetics which is specifically emphasize phonetics’ articulation and the sound. This study used Research and Development method. Researchers developed Interactive Multimedia Power Point Presentation (IMPPT) which can be used to teach phonetics. There are some stages done to develop IMPPT. Those stages are need analysis, data collection, product design and validation, and product testing. Product testing was also carried out as a consideration for the next steps. If the result was not satisfied, the researcher revised the design to obtain the final product. There were three aspects concerned as criteria of IMPPT, namely visual aspect, audio aspect, and material aspect. Those three aspects were validated based on assessment rubrics made by researcher. The range in the rubric is 1-5. The visual aspect showed the highest percentage, in which it was 35%. The second highest percentage was audio aspect. In material aspect, the total score was 23 (32%).
Task Based Learning (TBL) is a distinct way of teaching language. TBL is an approach that offers material to students who require them actively involved in the learning process to achieve goals or complete tasks (Hashemi, et al., 2012). This study aims to develop learning media in the form of a flipbook not only focuses on the material displayed, but also on the final result of the process learning. At the end of the explanation session that was presented, students were given assignments authentic so that they can apply the theory they have obtained in the session previous. The flipbook application can combine material in the form of text, images, nor video. In Phonology, students only get written samples about phonetics symbols. With the development of this flipbook, they can find out direct examples of direct pronunciation of phonetics symbols. Thus, in this study, flipbook media integrated with Task-based Learning can provide an explanation as well as a clearer picture in the learning Phonology. This study used a type of research and development (R&D). Researcher developed flipbook media that is integrated with Task-based Learning in the course phonology. In this study, researchers used the Ncesoft Flipbook Maker application features adding text files in the form of Microsoft Word or PDF, as well as image files (JPG/JPEG) and videos. As with other flipbook applications, the final flipbook can be rotated like a video to the end of the page. The subjects of this study consisted of 92 people. Researcher involving 90 IKIP Budi Utomo students taking Phonology courses. While the other two people consist of 1 material expert and 1 display design expert.
Many inputs are given by teacher to the students to develop their understanding of reading. Unfortunately, after the learning process has been carried out, many teachers ignore these reading skills tests. In this case, the test is not arranged based on the level of students' reading ability. Therefore, this study aims to create standardized tests, so that each student gets a type of test with the same level of ability even with different teachers. With the latest learning system, the Standardization Reading Test (SRT) will be arranged based on E-form. Students will take the test on their PC or mobile phone screen thereby speeding up the scoring system. This E-form based SRT will take advantage of the Quiz Creator application with features that require students to answer a reading test within a specified time. This research uses a development research type. Researchers developed a standardized test in the Intermediate Reading course. In this study, researchers used the Quiz Maker application. This Standardization Reading Test (SRT) will make it easier to measure students' reading comprehension skills in a valid and efficient manner. The first step is to see the potential and problems possessed by students in Intermediate Reading learning carried out by the chairman and research members. Then, data collection was carried out. Product design and design validation are carried out at a later stage by the chairman and members of the researcher. After being validated by the expert, the researcher revised the design. Product testing is also carried out as a consideration for next steps. If at the time of testing it is not satisfactory, the researcher will revise the design again to obtain the final product, namely the Standardization Reading Test (SRT).
