Seven hundred and fifteen Indonesian university students (mean age = 20.9 year, SD = 2.52 year, 290 female) participated voluntarily in this study by filing out a set of questionnaires consist of internet addiction test (IAT) questionnaire, Nordic body map to observe MSS, and a questionnaire about physical and psychosocial problems. The prevalence of internet addiction among Indonesian university students were 3.2 %, whereas 61% of the samples were categorized as having problem with internet. As predicted, higher internet addiction was accompanying with higher MSS. Most participants (> 50%) were reporting MSS in upper neck, lower neck, right shoulder, back, and waist. higher internet addiction also shows higher physical and psychosocial behavior problems. This study confirms number of general prevalence of internet addiction in teenagers. Result of this study also strengthen the fact of negative effects of intense use of internet not only for physical and musculoskeletal, but also for psychosocial wellbeing.
The rapid development of information technology has changed various sector of our life, including economy. A number of startup companies in Indonesia has been utilized technology to deliver financial services to its customer. One of them attempts to answerthe needs of university students in Indonesia for an alternative source of funding, who develop a lending mobile application for student. An initial study using interview and secondary data found that the users still find difficulties to use the mobile application. Usability is one approach that can be used to minimize the problem. The purpose of this study is to increase a fintech mobile application’s usability by conducting evaluation of several features including, 'creating a new account', 'completing profile registration', 'applying for university tuition lending', and 'applying for goods lending.' Usability evaluation was conducted by testing the effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction through a set of remote usability testing involving 20 participants. The results shows that the mobile application is not optimized in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction as yet. Using the Concept Generation Method, 21 recommendations were proposed to increase the usability of the lending mobile application.
Abstract. National culture plays an important role in the application of ergonomics and safety. This research examined role of national culture in accident analysis of Indonesian aviation using framework of Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS). 53 Indonesian aviation accidents during year of 2001-2012 were analyzed using the HFACS framework by authors and were validated to 14 airtransport experts in Indonesia. National culture is viewed with Hofstede' lens of national culture. Result shows that high collectivistic, low uncertainty avoidance, high power distance, and masculinity dimension which are characteristics of Indonesian culture, play an important role in Indonesian aviation accident and should be incorporated within HFACS. Result is discussed in relation with HFACS and Indonesian aviation accident analysis.
Human-related factors are considered to be the main cause of traffic incidents or accidents, causing 69.70% of the incidents. Several studies have been conducted to identify the relationship between drowsiness or fatigue and driving performance. Furthermore, a number of other studies not only discussed the symptoms causing drowsiness but also tried to investigate related factors that cause sleepiness or fatigue while driving. On the other hand, some discussed the quantity and quality of sleep as well as food and drink intake before and while driving. This systematic review, which is based on the PRISMA method, aims to map previous studies that investigated the effect of different food/drink consumption, either taken prior to driving or while driving, on the on-road driving characteristics of drivers. Furthermore, this article is expected to serve as a reference for further research that could potentially contribute to minimizing driving errors that lead to incident or accident. From 1871 articles screened, 7 studies related to food/drink intake and driving performance were reviewed. On the basis of the existing studies, no real evidence showing the presence of the association between food intake and the monotony of the road to decrease the driving performance has been found; therefore, further research is needed.
Objectives:The present study intended to identify the needs and development directions of a serious vocal training game for better motivation and commitment of patients with voice disorder to voice therapy. Methods: A literature review, a survey of stakeholders' needs, and a benchmarking analysis of three vocal training games (Visi Pitch, Dr. Speech, and Vox System) was conducted. Results: From the literature review, thirteen game user experience scales (usability, narratives, play engrossment, enjoyment, creative freedom, audio aesthetics, personal gratification, social connectivity, visual aesthetics, accuracy, customization, game analytics, and therapy continuity) were identified for vocal training games and then applied to evaluation of the existing games. From the user experience scales, features not commonly implemented in the existing games include creative freedom (average satisfaction score, 2.5 to 4.3 out of 7), social connectivity (2.4 to 4.4), therapy continuity (1.7 to 4.7), and customization (2.5 to 5.0). Conclusion: The user experience scales would be of use to assess vocal training games, and new serious games need to be developed to complement the existing games in terms of the four scales found relatively lacking.
