La extracción sólido líquido de fuentes vegetales es una bioseparación ampliamente utilizada para la obtención de sustancias orgánicas de interés en la industria alimentaria, farmacéutica y cosmética. En el presente trabajo se estudió la operación de extracción con el modelo resuelto de Simpson por calculo fraccional de la expresión de difusión anómala de la segunda ley de Fick para estudiar el efecto de la microestructura y la temperatura en el comportamiento de la extracción y el tiempo de extracción. La determinación del tiempo de extracción es de gran importancia para el proceso ya que de no alcanzarse disminuye el rendimiento obtenido de la fuente vegetal y de ser mayor reduce su rentabilidad. Para ello se propuso un método numérico novedoso que define como tiempo de extracción aquel en el que se tiene un cambio marcado en la velocidad de extracción. La simulación se realizó con Matlab y se evaluó los parámetros del modelo que representan el efecto de la microestructura (n) y el efecto de la temperatura (k) de manera individual y combinado en un rango de 80% a 120% de su valor inicial. El ajuste de los datos experimentales al modelo de Simpson presento una R2 de 0.998, mientras la evaluación del parámetro k (temperatura) mostró tener menor consecuencia en el comportamiento y tiempo de extracción que el parámetro n (microestructura) los cuales presentaron tiempos de extracción de 507.8 a 14.5 min. y de 79.3 a 46.6 min. para n y k respectivamente. Los resultados de la simulación fueron congruentes con los observados en biomateriales con estructuras claramente diferentes como las de semillas y frutos procesados a diferentes temperaturas por lo que los métodos numéricos propuestos pueden ser una herramienta útil en esta bioseparación.
Las características de la espectrometría de masas (EM) la han elevado a una posición destacada entre los métodos analíticos debido a su sensibilidad inigualable, límites de detección, rapidez y su combinación con la cromatografía (Milman, 2015). aplicaciones biotecnológicas de algunos complejos proteicos requieren información detallada sobre su estructura y composición, lo que puede ser difícil de obtener en el caso de las proteínas de origen natural (Kaldmäe et al., 2019). Importante ejemplo es la ficocianina (FC), aislada de microorganismos fotosintéticos. Rivera et al (2021), exponen que este metabolito genera efectos biológicos con alto poder antioxidante, antiinflamatorio, anticancerígeno e incluso ha demostrado potencial antiviral y su posible uso en trastornos relacionados con el brote de COVID-19. A pesar de su utilidad, se desconoce en gran medida estructuras e interacciones de sus subunidades centrales. Por lo que, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica del análisis por EM para revelar su estabilidad e identificar sus homólogos arquitectónicos.
Los péptidos bioactivos son secuencias cortas de aminoácidos que provienen de la hidrólisis de proteínas, se mantienen inactivos cuando la proteína está completa y adquieren su actividad al ser liberados. Los péptidos bioactivos tienen relevancia en las funciones metabólicas de los organismos. Se han identificado las funciones de algunos péptidos bioactivos con aplicaciones terapéuticas para humanos entre las cuales destacan sus funciones antimicrobianas, antitrombóticas, antihipertensivas, entre otras, además de su uso como tratamiento preventivo. Una forma de proteger la actividad de los péptidos bioactivos para su administración es la técnica de nanoencapsulación, a través de la cual se generan partículas a nanoescala con una barrera protectora. Este artículo es una revisión de la técnica de nanoencapsulación de péptidos e incluye algunas características físicas a considerar para el producto terminado tales como la eficiencia de encapsulación (EE) y la determinación de la morfología.
El cannabidiol o CBD es un cannabinoide no psicoactivo derivado de Cannabis de tipo fibra (cáñamo), utilizado como alternativa terapéutica para tratamiento de diversas patologías. Derivado de la importancia médica del CBD, y su demanda farmacológica, surge la necesidad de homogenizar el proceso de obtención de extractos de CBD a partir del cultivo cáñamo. Un sistema de hidroponía facilita determinar condiciones para la producción de esta especie vegetal. Las ventajas más importantes de la hidroponía son que, no se requiere del suelo como soporte o fuente de nutrimentos, control de plagas, adaptación a cualquier espacio y condición climática e inclusive incrementaría los rendimientos. Por lo tanto, se presenta una propuesta de un sistema hidropónico del cultivo del cáñamo para la obtención de CBD; incluye distribución del sistema, sustratos, temperatura, contenedores, iluminación, aireación, humedad, pH, sistema de drenaje y riego, solución nutritiva y electro conductividad sugerida. Además, se incluye una revisión bibliográfica de la identificación del CBD por HPLC.
