Menstruasi merupakan indikator kematangan seksual pada remaja putri. Menstruasi dihubungkan dengan beberapa kesalahpahaman praktek kebersihan diri selama menstruasi yang dapat merugikan kesehatan bagi remaja. Kesadaran tentang perlunya informasi tentang praktik menstruasi yang sehat sangat penting. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sumber informasi dan pengetahuan tentang menstrual hygiene pada remaja putri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional yang dilakukan tahun 2014. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Kota Yogyakarta. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswi kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Kota Yogyakarta. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah total sampling yaitu 79 orang. Analisis data meliputi univariat dan bivariat dengan menggunakan chi square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 93,7% tidak mengetahui penyebab terjadinya menstruasi, 51,9 % mengatakan bahwa darah menstruasi berasal dari perut, 48,1% mengatakan bahwa lama menstruasi sekitar 3-7 hari, 58,2% tidak mengetahui siklus normal menstruasi. Analisis bivariat menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan antara sumber informasi dengan pengetahuan dengan nilai p<0,05. Simpulan penelitian, ada hubungan antara sumber informasi dengan pengetahuan tentang menstrual hygiene pada remaja.
Background: The increasing number of smokers has an impact on increasing the number of deaths due to smoking-related illnesses. Teenagers are the easiest targets for cigarette marketing, including in the city of Yogyakarta, whose numbers continue to increase. The proper investigation needs to be carried out to determine the determinants that play a role in developing effective interventions to reduce the number of teenage smokers. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinants of smoking in adolescents in The City of Yogyakarta.Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study with senior high school/vocational students’ samples. The sampling technique uses multistage random cluster sampling with Chi-Square analysis.Results: Researchers collected 481 respondents. Variables significantly associated with smoking behavior of senior high school/vocational high school students in Yogyakarta City are knowledge, attitude, self-confidence, family’s role, and peer’s role, while the unrelated variables are teacher’s role and information sources. The RP value of these variables is more than 1, which shows the seven variables are risk factors for adolescent smoking behavior.Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between knowledge, attitudes, self-confidence, the role of family, the role of peers and the smoking behavior of adolescents in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The role of the teacher and the source of information has no significant relationship with the smoking behavior of adolescents in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The intervention program for reducing and preventing smoking must pay attention to these variables as a determining factor.
Digital Flipbook is one of the multimedia-based media that is recommended to be developed because it can be accessed with gadgets or laptops. This research is Research and Development level 4, which is researching and testing in creating new products. Researchers developed the Digital Flip Book with the title Me: Teenagers and My Health. The purpose of developing this media is to increase the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents after reading the Digital Flipbook. This media design is a cover page, content (introduction to adolescent reproductive health situations, adolescent definitions, risk behaviors in adolescents which consists of understanding, impact, and prevention of premarital sex, violence, and early marriage), and improving adolescent reproductive health. The results of media development from media experts said that based on the assessment aspects, namely simplicity, cohesiveness, emphasis, balance, shape and color, the results obtained 91.67%. The media to be used must be simple, easy to use on a gadget or laptop and balanced color combination. Material expert assesses 97.22%. The language used in media must be easily understood, not a textbook, by the target of adolescents. Thus, a digital flipbook entitled "Me: Teenagers and My Health" is suitable for use in health promotion among adolescents and further field testing. This media has been tested on target, with the result that knowledge is good as much as 51.9% and a positive attitude as much as 59%. Thus, the media has been used. However This process affects the output of learning using the application as a medium for health promotion for adolescents.
AbstrakPacaran dan perilaku seksual berkaitan erat satu sama lain. Pacaran akan menghadapkan remaja pada kondisi yang meningkatkan pengalaman seksual. Dilaporkan bahwa perilaku berciuman (48% remaja laki-laki, 30% remaja perempuan), petting (30% remaja laki-laki, 6% remaja perempuan). Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan komunikasi orangtua-remaja, pendidikan orangtua dengan perilaku seksual berisiko pada remaja Tahun 2015. Penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional. Besar sampel adalah 88 orang. Teknik sampling adalah total sampling. Analisa data menggunakan chi square dan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian didapatkan perilaku seksual remaja risiko rendah (91,2%), komunikasi orangtua-remaja baik (57,2%). Ada hubungan komunikasi orangtua-remaja dengan perilaku seksual berisiko (p=0,03), ada hubungan pendidikan orangtua dengan perilaku seksual berisiko (p=0,04). Simpulan penelitian ada hubungan komunikasi orangtua-remaja, pendidikan orangtua dengan perilaku seksual berisiko dan komunikasi orangtua-remaja merupakan variabel dominan berhubungan dengan perilaku seksual berisiko pada remaja. Anak merupakan aset terpenting dalam tercapainya keberhasilan suatu negara, karena anaknya merupakan generasi penerus bangsa. Anak usia sekolah merupakan kelompok usia yang kritis karena pada usia tersebut rentan terhadap masalah kesehatan. Masalah kesehatan umum yang terjadi pada anak usia sekolah biasanya berkaitan dengan kebersihan perorangan dan lingkungan seperti gosok gigi yang baik dan benar, kebersihan diri, serta kebiasaan cuci tangan pakai sabun, serta membersihkan kuku dan rambut. Peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang cuci tangan dan menggosok gigi diberikan menggunakan metode pelatihan yaitu memberikan pengetahuan dan praktik terkait cuci tangan dan menggosok gigi. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah kegiatan pelatihan berjalan dengan baik dan siswa aktif bertanya dan antusias dalam mepraktikkan angkah-langkah cuci tangan dengan menggunakan sabun dan air mengalir dan meggosok gigi degan baik dan benar.
<p>Yogyakarta City, which is known as the center of education is a potential place for drug abuser to distribute illegal substance to the youth. It is evident in the great number of drug users in Yogyakarta City, in which 50% of them are adolescents and university students. The research aimed to know the relationships predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors and the drug abuse among adolescents in Yogyakarta City. The research employed cross sectional design. The samples were taken using multistage random cluster sampling. The data were taken through questionnaire given to 481 youth, at the age of 15-19 years in 18 senior high school and the equals in Yogyakarta City. The data were then analyzed using Chi Square test. Attitude, self-confidence, family role, and peer’s role are related to drug abuse. Knowledge, information sources, and teacher’s role are not related to drug abuse. </p>
Violence can adversely affect teenagers. Teenagers rarely report violence to their friends or family. Teens who are experienced with violent outbreaks have symptoms such as depression and anxiety, deviant behaviours such as smoking, drugs and alcohol and even attempted suicide. This Study used a cross-sectional design. The sample of the study were student aged 15-19 years who came from 18 Junior High School in Yogyakarta City. The study was conducted during August 2017. Sample size is 481 adolescents. Technique sampling used multistage random cluster sampling. The instrument used questionnaires on violence, knowledge, attitudes, self-confidence, family roles, peer roles, teacher roles and information sources. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis used chi square test. Results showed that 77.5% of adolescents were violent and 68.4% were physically abused. Peers are a risk factor for adolescents to engage in violence (PR: 1.335; CI 95%:1.205-1.479) and families also play an important role for adolescents engaged in violence (PR: 1.179; CI 95%: 1.079-1.292). The existence of teen counseling services such as Youth Information and Counseling Center to increase adolescent insight about juvenile delinquency especially violence and impact on adolescents.
The aims in this study to analyze the effectiveness of digital flipbooks as a medium for health promotion for adolescents. This study is a quasi experimental design with a One Group Pre and Post Test Design. The sample of this study was 100 adolescents. The average age of adolescents was 16 years and the majority of the female sex. Mean rank for knowledge (Mean rank=2.86; p-value=0.24) and attitude (Mean rank=11.8; p-value = 0.009). Digital media flipbook can influence the attitudes of adolescents but does not affect the change of knowledge. Increase exposure to health promotion programs by expanding access to information about preventing risk behaviors in adolescents to maintain attitudes that avoid adolescents risk behavior.
