The challenges of digital media in learning today are demanded better by the demands of the digital era which are increasingly high in people's lives today. Teachers provide teaching materials with traditional learning media which certainly has an impact on the asking and motivation of students in accepting and developing these lessons. So that teachers are demanded of digital development nowadays to be able to literate digital media in learning. For this reason, this study aims to reveal the digital literacy of teachers in the use of instructional media in the classroom. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method. Taking research subjects using purposive sampling method. The main instrument in this study was the researchers themselves who were assisted by assistive instruments in the form of depth interview guides. The study was conducted on 4 Vocational Schools consisting of 1 Vocational School in the City of Bandung, 2 Vocational Schools in West Bandung Regency, and 1 Vocational School in Bekasi Regency . The subjects of this study were productive teachers who were in the Vocational School totaling 6 teachers. This interview wanted to reveal about the types of digital media use inside and outside the classroom, the reasons for using digital media, how to use digital media and the obstacles experienced by teachers in using digital media. This research hopes to provide recommendations to vocational teachers, especially productive teachers in digital literacy, the use of learning media in schools and policy makers in schools to support digital facilities that support the learning needs of teachers and students in schools.
The purpose of this study is to obtain data from vocational school teachers about their perceptions of elearning learning activities in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Respondents are vocational teachers who conduct learning activities using e-learning. This survey uses a questionnaire that consists of teacher knowledge of elearning, the preparation, the application, and evaluation of learning using e-learning. This research is descriptive with a survey method. Researchers distributed questionnaires to vocational high school teachers in West Java using Google Form from September to October 2020. There are 15 vocational schools with a total of 82 teachers. After that, the researchers analyzed the collected data. The results show that vocational school teachers perceive e-learning learning as a learning medium using the internet network. Furthermore, for the perception of vocational school teachers in preparing for e-learning learning, 60% state that they do not encounter problems, 71% of teachers mention it is easy to implement. However, as for the perception of vocational teachers in the e-learning evaluation is 73% state that e-learning still consists of learning content that is difficult for students to understand. The findings show the necessity of vocational teachers to have sufficient preparation when implementing e-learning to achieve the learning objectives.
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has hits many sectors, one of which is the educational sector. Lockdown policy has closed schools in most countries from natural teaching and learning process. This study aims to analyze students' experiences during the online learning process in electronics and microprocessors subject in Vocational High School (VHS) according to competency to implementing programming a microcontroller using Tinkercad software. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The results of this study that students able to properly implement programming a microcontroller both in theory and practice using Tinkercad software. Most students show a positive response, feel enthusiastic and motivated to develop their abilities, while a small number of students show a negative response, this is due to constraints both from internal and external factors. The conclusion obtained is that students can use Tinkercad software well to understand programming competency upon a microcontroller. Most of the students showed a positive response when using Tinkercad and the obstacles experienced by a small part of students related to internal and external factors.
One of many duties of teachers is as a facilitators of students learning activities, as facilitator a teacher has to be capable in serving various kinds of instructional media. This research aims to develop instructional media by applying the computer assisted as simulation trainer of DCS in order to run processing control system, and analyzing characteristics on processing control systems, interactively, intuitive, effectively, and efficiently. This DCS/SCADA trainer is developed using LabVIEW application as the Human Machine Interface (HMI) which usually present on Distributed Control System (DCS). Arduino microcontroller as replacement for Programmable Logic Control (PLC) device. Applied controlling systems are Proportional Integral and Derivative (PID) control on single loop level and cascade loop level. From the research result by using mixed methods acquired qualitative and quantitative data's. Data then analyzed through triangulation process by using the support of NVivo application until its validity and credibility can be approved as assessment on the instructional media which had been developed. To know the effectiveness thus testing of the student comprehension regarding of the media that is being used before has to be done by providing pretest and posttest. The results of the analysis of qualitative data obtained the information that stakeholders in the development of instructional media have confirmed agreement on the suitability of media that is developed with the curriculum in instrumentation processing control program. And the results of testing the effectiveness of this medium can be proven by the average value of the results of more than pretest posttest, the effectiveness is then expressed in Cohen-d where the results indicate a positive difference.
Antenna radiation pattern is the major topic of Antenna and Propagation course in Telecommunication Engineering Program Study. Antenna radiation pattern measurement system is strongly required to conduct practical work in the laboratory. This study aims to design Automatic Antenna Radiation Pattern Measurement System based microcontroller for conducting Antenna and Propagation Laboratory course. This system will expand and enrich the topics of practical subjects in the laboratory, and it leads to the achieving of more learning indicators of the Antenna and Propagation course. The methodology used in this research is quantitative method where data obtained through student response questionnaire. The result of student response to designing of this system is 0.86. The interview is conducted with both the expert of media and content. The result shows that this system is necessitated to run the laboratory of Antenna and Propagation course.
