Esse texto pretende discutir o desenvolvimento da produção musical independente no Brasil a partir da análise daqueles que considero seus três principais momentos de articulação: a cena do final dos anos 70, marcada pela atuação do músico e produtor Antonio Adolfo e pela produção desenvolvida em torno do Teatro Lira Paulistana (Sâo Paulo), a cena dos anos 90, impulsionada pelo desenvolvimento das tecnologias digitais de produção e pelas estratégias de terceirização das grandes gravadoras e o momento atual, de inédita articulação da cena independente bem como de sua atuação autônoma em diversos segmentos musicais.
O objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar um relato condensado da história da indústria fonográfica no Brasil, desde os primeiros anos do século XX até os dias atuais (1900-2010). Baseando-se numa pesquisa bibliográfica, que compreendeu livros publicados, teses de doutorado e as atuais pesquisas dos autores, este trabalho pretende oferecer uma visão geral da dinâmica da indústria de registros sonoros, articulando aspectos tecnológicos, econômicos e socioculturais que influenciaram o desenvolvimento dessa indústria cultural no país. Dessa forma, pretende-se lançar luz sobre relações entre esse negócio de comunicação e cultura e a música popular brasileira, auxiliando futuras pesquisas relacionadas ao tema.
<span>A intenção deste texto é oferecer um relato acerca do desenvolvimento histórico da indústria fonográfica a partir da perspectiva dos seus suportes de distribuição. Ele parte da premissa de que a questão dos suportes é fundamental para a compreensão tanto de muitas das características assumidas pela indústria ao longo de sua história— como a concentração econômica, a sua vinculação às editoras musicais e a relação entre </span><em>hardware</em><span> e </span><em>software</em><span> — quanto de sua crise atual.</span>

Entende-se que esses novos empreendimentos experimentam, de forma peculiar, o conflito entre interesses divergentes, tornando-se um privilegiado objeto de estudo sobre o atual momento da destruição criadora da indústria da música. Adotando uma abordagem socioeconômica dos mercados de comunicação e cultura, realiza-se um estudo de caso exploratório a partir da descrição e análise da experiência de consumo de mídia sonora nesses programas e das estratégias de monetização do consumo musical. Por fim, apontamse as pressões que os serviços de streaming sofrem dos tradicionais agentes da indústria da música para que reformulem seu atual modelo de negócio, comentando-se os possíveis efeitos sobre a organização do mercado digital de música.Palavras-chave: serviços de streaming, indústria da música, novos modelos de negócio. ABSTRACTThis paper analyzes the streaming music services in order to understand how the conciliation of digital content's new consumption practices affects the development of music industry agents' business model. It is assumed that these new enterprises of the digital environment experience more intensely the conflicts between divergent interests, making it a privileged object of study on the current situation of the creative destruction of the music industry. By adopting a socioeconomic approach to communication and culture markets, we conducted an exploratory case study based on the description and subsequent analysis of user experience in these programs and the monetization strategies of musical consumption.
