Social media has a significant impact on political and social life, particularly in policy making. In order to examine social media use in policy making, the researchers obtained and analyzed data on Twitter or Facebook using a NodeXL program from January to June 2016 in three ASEAN cities, Bandung (Indonesia), Iligan (Philippines) and Pukhet (Thailand). Research found that Bandung City has made significant achievement at the engagement level by engaging with the city community in daily city affairs. Meanwhile, Iligan City and Pukhet City are still in the stage of transforming their respective internal organizations. The pivotal factors of social media use in three cities is top and middle leader role, legal standing for social media use, policy framework and internal change management
The aim of this current study was to analyze recent development of talent management among public service managers in Malaysia. The study brings understanding on talent management and broader human capital issues within Malaysia context by analysing the comprehensive literature. Government of Malaysia is emphasizing on development of talent in the public sector, as it is the most significant resource for the public service. The study found that the government has invested in various programs and initiatives to develop and produce key talented human capital within the public sector. However, despite the initiatives taken by the government, Malaysia is still short of talented people and struggling to develop talent, and talented skilful people are leaving. The study also indicated that year after year increasing number of graduates are being produced at the public universities, but the education system is not producing the right skilful individuals for the particular position or task, resulting in talent mismatch. Another key issue is the incapability to retain talented people that led to poor innovation and creativity within the country. Is key issue is part of the factors discussed in the 10th and 11th Malaysia Plan, and is a concern, as it plays a role in preventing the progress of Malaysia in achieving a developed nation by 2020. As one of the key aspirations of Malaysia is to enrich public service in Malaysia as a citizen centre that is having talented human capital. The study revealed that there is a need for in-depth quantitative and qualitative further research to discover new insights on talent management and retain talent among the public sector managers in Malaysia.
Tunagrahita an integral part of the social process in Indonesia. Tunagrahita problems are social problems, because it is a situation that leads to the violation of values, norms, and lead to people being emotional. As a manifestation of the community's efforts to increase social welfare for Tunagrahita, then the various activities of the empowerment-based community resources is necessary, one of them in Kampung Idiot, Ponorogo Regency. The purpose of this study is to look at the model of Tunagrahita community empowerment in the place. The method used is descriptive method with qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews and documentation. The result Showed model of Tunagrahita Community Empowerment in Kampung Idiot is community empowerment based on a economy strengthening. Tunagrahita merupakan bagian tak terpisahkan dari proses sosial kemasyarakatan di Indonesia. Permasalahan Tunagrahita merupakan permasalahan sosial, karena merupakan keadaan yang mengarah kepda pelanggaran nilai-nilai, norma, serta mengakibatkan penderita menjadi emosional. Sebagai wujud dari upaya masyarakat terhadap peningkatan kesejahteraan sosial bagi Tunagrahita, maka berbagai kegiatan pemberdayaan yang berbasis sumber daya masyarakat memang perlu dilakukan, salah satunya di Kampung Idiot, Kabupaten Ponorogo. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat model pemberdayaan masyarakat Tunagrahita di tempat tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan Model Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Tunagrahita di Kampung Idiot adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat berbasis penguatan.
This article described the development of Ngebel tourism using a website. The tourism development concept uses the principles of e-government, such as government to citizens (G2C), government to government (G2G), and government to business (G2B). The study employed qualitative methods such as observation and focus group discussions (FGD) in collecting data. Data was analyzed using Nvivo 12 Plus software and the findings showed the Dolan Ngebel website applies the principles of government to citizens and government to business. This development was also received positively by the community and business people in the tourism industry. The website provides detailed information regarding the tourist attractions and facilities. Also, it is equipped with a map to make it easier for tourists to locate their destination. Overall, its use will help promote tourism to the locals and the international community. However, its development faces obstacles, including a lack of techsavvy human resources.
