This research aimed to develop a definition maps-based plane geometry module to improve the student teachers' mathematical reasoning skills based on the level of Van Hiele. This development research was to produce a product in the form of a module at the college level. This research referred to the ADDIE model involving five stages, i.e. analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The instruments for data collection were observation sheet, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), assessment sheets, questionnaires, and test. The collected data then were analyzed usingAiken's validity, descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The questionnaire instrument developed for student teachers was in a good category. The instrument used to test the effectiveness of the module was in a good category. A definition maps-based plane geometry module was in the criteria of feasible, practical and effective. The module was significantly developed in improving mathematical reasoning skills to rigor level.
The purpose of this research is to develop an instrument to evaluate local curriculum developed by the local government. Local curriculum is to preserve the uniqueness or culture of the Region. With a well-run educational system, students as young people can develop local or regional uniqueness. Type of this research is a research and development consisting of four phases: 1) initial investigation phase, 2) design phase and 3) expert validation phase, and 4) trial phase. From the initial investigation obtained 3 components of the evaluation that is; 1) resources component; 2) process component; 3) output component. The design phase is done by studying the theory and developing the instrument in the form of the questionnaire as many as 60 items. Expert validation phase is done by 2 evaluation experts, 1 measurement expert, and 8 practitioners. The results were analyzed using Aiken's validity. The trial phase is done 2 times in small scale and large-scale trials. The small-scale trial was analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's Alpha reliability. The large-scale trial was analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis and construct reliability. From the results of validity and reliability obtained 50 items of the instrument is valid and feasible to be used to evaluate local curriculum developed by local government. The instrument is effective in evaluating the local curriculum
The impact of decentralization on education systems requires the local government to develop local content curriculum to preserve regional characteristics and local uniqueness through education. Practice in the field revealed problems in terms of implementation so that the development of an evaluation model in accordance with the characteristics of the region is necessary. The purpose of this study was to produce an evaluation model for evaluating vocational skills programs on the local content curriculum.
Students' success in learning is inseparable from their high level of fighting power or the Adversity Quotient (AQ) they have. This study examines whether there was an Adversity Quotient (AQ) difference between Boarding Schools (BS) and Non-Boarding Schools (NBS) students through the application of metacognitive learning Think-aloud cooperative setting through the application of metacognitive learning Think-aloud cooperative setting Think-Pair-Share (MTPS), Think-Pair Square (MTPQ), and Conventional Class (CC). The researchers used quasiexperimental research design. The data collection in this study involves students in 2 schools namely; boarding schools (BS) and non-boarding schools (NBS) system in Pekanbaru. With statistics analysis of ANOVA, it was found that there was a difference of AQ of students to the learning of mathematics in the three groups of learning strategies (MTPS,MTPQ, CC). The strategies that best influence the successive AQ of students are the strategies of MTPS, CC, MTPQ. There was also an interaction effect between learning strategies with the school system on AQ students. Student AQ is higher in the NBS group in BS students. Student AQ indicators are high on control and reach aspects, while other indicators are categorized (origin, ownership, and endurance). This research contributes to the development of the study of metacognitive think-aloud strategy and adversity quotient in mathematics learning.
This research aimed to develop valid and practical mathematical learning devices. Learning devices were developed with the Realistic Mathematics Education approach (RME) based on Malay folklore of Riau. The method in this research was Research and Development (R & D) using Plomp modification with five phases namely: (1) initial investigation, (2) design, (3) realization or construction, (4) Tests, evaluations and revisions, (5) implementation. Samples in this research were Elementary School Benteng District of Riau Province. Learning tools developed in the form of Planning Learning Implementation Planning (LIP) and Students Activities sheets (SAS). The instruments used were LIP validation sheets, SAS validation sheets, LIP practicality questionnaires (teacher and student responses), SAS practicality questionnaires (teacher and student responses) and questionnaires to assess the implementation of learning. The results of LIP validation acquired value about 83.04% with fairly valid criteria, the practicality analysis result of LIP about 85.29% with very practical criteria, SAS validation result about 83.77% with fairly valid criteria, and SAS practicality analysis result about 84.55% with quite practical criteria. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that learning devices developed based on Riau Malay folklore have been valid and practical.
