RESUMO O processo de formação dos profissionais de saúde encontra-se no momento histórico de reformas orientado para o fortalecimento dos sistemas de saúde, com grandes desafios para esse novo século. Iniciativas para a superação dos problemas relacionados com a colaboração entre diferentes profissionais de saúde são assumidas como uma das prioridades. É partindo da necessidade de formar profissionais de saúde mais aptos à colaboração para o trabalho em equipe que a Educação Interprofissional (EIP) começa a ser valorizada em todo o mundo. O objetivo deste ensaio foi apresentar a trajetória histórica da incorporação dessa abordagem nas políticas de formação profissional em saúde do Brasil, bem como destacar os recentes avanços nessa direção. Recentemente, o Brasil passou a incorporar a EIP de forma mais clara nas políticas de reorientação da formação em saúde, processo intensificado nos últimos dois anos, o que pode ser atribuído ao reconhecimento dos formuladores de políticas para a importância da abordagem no processo de formação profissional em saúde no País, assim como à atuação de organismos internacionais de saúde que intensificaram o chamado para a sua relevância no processo de mudança do modelo de atenção à saúde.
RESUMO Este artigo buscou analisar a edição mais recente do Programa de Educação pelo Trabalho para a Saúde - PET-Saúde/GraduaSUS, resgatando os seus antecedentes, estabelecendo um comparativo com as edições anteriores e descrevendo o cenário de distribuição dos projetos aprovados. Para tanto, empreendeu-se apreciação documental dos oito editais do programa e análise estatística descritiva de dados secundários disponíveis no Sistema de Informações Gerenciais do PET-Saúde. Como diferenciais da edição GraduaSUS, cita-se o estímulo à participação mais ativa dos serviços de saúde na definição e coordenação das ações a serem implementadas pelos grupos tutoriais e o fomento ao desenvolvimento docente e da preceptoria. O panorama de distribuição dos projetos aprovados, com número de grupos e bolsistas, acompanha o cenário de concentração de instituições de ensino superior entre as regiões e os estados brasileiros. Verificou-se que o PET-Saúde/GraduaSUS agregou cursos de graduação de diferentes categorias, oportunizando e/ou ampliando a participação daquelas ainda pouco inseridas nos cenários da Atenção Básica, e mobilizou a inclusão de um número expressivo de voluntários e de parcerias entre instituições de ensino localizadas no mesmo território de atuação.
Sob a égide do movimento de retomada da política de Educação Permanente em Saúde (EPS), este estudo deu voz a atores que a promovem, no intuito de compreender os fatores que favoreceram ou dificultaram a sua implementação. Por meio de um grupo focal com 14 informantes-chave, evidenciou-se que o repasse de recursos e os espaços colegiados são elementos que favorecem a implementação da política e precisam ser assegurados. Ao mesmo tempo, o desalinhamento conceitual acerca do que seja EPS e a fragmentação das ações e das áreas que compõem a política são desafios que precisam ser superados. Recolocar a política de Educação Permanente como prioritária na agenda da Educação em Saúde é o fator mais importante e ao mesmo tempo mais desafiador para a sua implementação.
