Le Canada est un pays enrichi par le multiculturalisme et l’immigration, mais la protection et la valorisation de la langue française demeurent un enjeu majeur. Spécifiquement, les membres des communautés francophones en situation linguistique minoritaire au Canada (hors Québec) vivent des réalités variées et complexes. Dans ce contexte, certains luttent pour leurs survies afin d’éviter l’assimilation, alors que d’autres s’harmonisent avec la situation linguistique majoritaire anglophone, tout en conservant une identité linguistique francophone. Dans cet article, je porterai un regard analytique sur l’importance de préserver le pluralisme des accents francophones pour contrer l’insécurité linguistique chez les communautés francophones en situation linguistique minoritaire au Canada. Pour se faire, à partir de données du dernier recensement de Statistique Canada, je dresserai un portait des Franco-Ontariens de la province de l’Ontario ainsi que de l’immigration francophone. Ensuite, j’étudierai une capsule vidéo du groupe franco-ontarien Improtéine ainsi que des situations épilinguistiques afin d’étudier la notion d’insécurité linguistique, dont le rôle des accents. La typologie du linguiste français Louis-Jean Calvet sera utilisée pour analyser les situations épilinguistiques, à savoir l’insécurisation statutaire, formelle et identitaire. En conclusion, je présenterai des pistes de réflexion, inspirées des travaux de l’écrivain franco-libanais Amin Maalouf, qui pourront être pertinentes pour contrer l’insécurité linguistique.
Objetivo- Explorar as percepções culturais subjacentes ao conceito de masculinidade sobre o consumo de álcool e o risco potencial de câncer por homens lusófonos. Metodologia- Sondagem quanti-qualitativa anônima online pela plataforma Opinio (Maio 2018-Março 2019). Resultados- Respondentes vivendo no Brasil, Canadá, Portugal e USA (n=184) indicaram que o consumo do álcool integra a identidade cultural masculina principalmente como percebida por 89% dos respondentes brasileiros. A ocupação profissional de maior tendência para o consumo do álcool é a construção civil (23.2%) e seu consumo foi percebido por 17.5% dos respondentes como sendo parte da vida dos estudantes masculinos, enquanto que o desemprego ou a instabilidade no trabalho foram relatados por 17.5% como relacionados ao contexto de vida masculina. A análise temática foi guiada pelos temas: Práticas particulares do consumo alcoólico segundo a percepção de masculinidade no contexto etnocultural lusófono; e, Tendências do consumo alcoólico influenciado pela origem etnocultural, pressão social, e resposta aos fatores estressantes como risco potencial para o câncer. Conclusão- Respondentes recomendaram a maior acessibilidade dos resultados de pesquisa demonstrando a relação entre consumo de álcool e maior risco para o desenvolvimento de câncer como fator de desmistificação da inocuidade do álcool em relação ao câncer. A pesquisa multidisciplinar e aquela conjunta entre a Enfermagem do Trabalho e a Oncológica podem redirecionar políticas preventivas do câncer aos homens. Esforços futuros devem incluir ações tanto no âmbito individual como no coletivo, com medidas para atuação sobre os fatores de risco que podem aumentar o risco de câncer.
La recherche en santé sur les Communautés de langue officielle vivant en situation minoritaire révèle des disparités. Le fait d’être minoritaire dans une société, conjointement avec d’autres déterminants, comme le statut socioéconomique, l’éducation en santé, et le fait de ne pas avoir un soutien social contribuent aux disparités de santé. Dans le contexte du vieillissement plus marqué des populations de langue officielle vivant en situation minoritaire, nous avons examiné la situation des aînés francophones. Pour cela, une analyse secondaire des données issues de l’Enquête sur la santé des collectivités canadiennes (ESCC) a été réalisée. Nous présentons dans cet article, une analyse différenciée de leur situation sociosanitaire selon le sexe et le genre en dressant le portrait des états de santé, des incapacités et des besoins sur le plan des soins de santé.
