The global population is projected to grow from around 7.3 billion (in 2017) to nearly 9.8 billion in 2050. In low-income countries, the population can double to 1.4 billion. Therefore, a 50 percent increase in food and other agricultural production will be needed from 2012 to the middle of the century. This increase has implications for agriculture and the food system to adapt significantly to becoming more productive and diversifying while overcoming climate change and unpredictable natural disasters. With integrated agricultural technology, agricultural productivity can also be increased even in limited land. Based on this, in this study, a wireless mobile-robot control system was developed which was designed to support a smart-greenhouse monitoring system using the Raspberry Pi. Mobile-robot made using the tricycle drive system. Mobile-robot is also equipped with 2 DOF manipulator arms to drive the monitoring camera mounted on the robot. Temperature and humidity sensors are also connected to the Raspberry Pi controller to be able to read environmental conditions in the green-house in real-time. Utilizing VNC remote desktop technology, the GUI application from Raspberry Pi can be accessed wirelessly using a network that is available on a green-house. The output of this research is a wireless control system on a mobile-robot for remote monitoring of greenhouse conditions.
Stunting is a condition when toddler have less height compared to age, caused by poor nutrition. Probolinggo is one of area which produces moringa leaves, one of good local food ingredients for supplementary food, could be modified with chicken nugget. The research aimed to compare nutrient levels in chicken nugget as supplementary foods which modified with and without moringa leaves. Data were collected by proximate test in August 2020. The results showed nutrient levels of chicken nugget without moringa leaves had 19.2% crude protein, 2.8% crude fat, and 1.7% crude fiber. Meanwhile, nutrient levels of chicken nugget with 50 g moringa leaves (20% of chicken meat) had 18.4% crude protein, 2.8% crude fat, and 3.4% crude fiber. Based on result, it could be concluded that there is no significant difference of nutrition levels (crude protein and crude fat) between two samples, but the chicken nugget with moringa leaves has higher crude fiber than chicken nugget without moringa leaves. Thus, the chicken nugget with moringa leaves could be used as supplementary food for toddler with high crude protein and crude fiber.
Salah satu alternatif pemecahan pengendalian hama utama tanaman kapas adalah dengan teknik pengendalian hama yang aman bagi lingkungan dan dapat menekan residu kimia pada produk pertanian (pengendalian hayati). Pengendali hayati (agens hayati) yang mempunyai potensi besar sebagai pengendali alami hama tanaman kapas antara lain adalah dari golongan bakteri, jamur dan nematoda entomopatogen. Pengembangan agens hayati yang efektif dan efisien sebagai pengendali hama sangat penting untuk dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman kapas dengan tetap memperhatikan kualitas lingkungan hidup yang aman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menguji patogenisitas bakteri, jamur dan nematoda entomopatogen dalam mengendalikan hama penggerek buah kapas, serta untuk memperoleh isolat lokal bakteri, jamur dan nematoda entomopatogen yang paling efektif sebagai pengendali hama utama tanaman kapas. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri atas lima faktor perlakuan dengan lima ulangan, yaitu isolat lokal bakteri Bacillus thuringiensis, jamur Beauveria bassiana 1, jamur Beauveria bassiana 2, nematoda Steinernema sp. dan kontrol. Analisis data menggunakan uji F dan selanjutnya menggunakan Uji Jarak Ganda Duncan (UJGD). Parameter yang diamati terdiri atas: (1) Gejala kematian serangga uji; (2) persentase mortalitas serangga uji; (3) perilaku serangga uji terinfeksi; (4) laju kematian serangga uji; dan (5) bedah serangga uji terinfeksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa agens hayati bakteri Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), jamur Beauveria bassiana (Bv) dan nematoda entomopatogen Steinernema sp. (NEP) berpotensi dalam menekan hama penggerek buah kapas Helicoverpa armigera, sedangkan agens hayati yang paling efektif dalam mengendalikan Helicoverpa armigera adalah isolat lokal jamur Beauveria bassiana 1, dengan waktu kematian tercepat yaitu 128 jam.
Dalam profil Dinas kesehatan Kabupaten Jember Tahun 2016 masih ditemukan balita Bawah Garis Merah (BGM) sebanyak 1.825 balita. Kecamatan Arjasa merupakan salah satu Kecamatan di Kabupaten Jember yang memiliki jumlah balita gizi buruk tertinggi sebanyak 87 balita (3,8%). Peran kader di Posyandu "Manggis 18, 15A, dan 15" belum optimal karena masih memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang terkait stunting dan cara pencegahannya. Kader juga belum berperan aktif dalam pengolahan Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) balita. Salah satu bahan makanan lokal yang baik untuk PMT adalah daun kelor (Moringa Oleivera). Dengan demikian diperlukan peningkatan pengetahuan kader posyandu dalam pembuatan PMT berbahan dasar kombinasi kelor dan susu sapi sebagai upaya percepatan pencegahan stunting. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan penyuluhan tentang tata laksana stunting. Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan PMT berbahan dasar kombinasi kelor dan susu sapi juga dilakukan dengan menghasilkan produk YOKE (Yoghurt Kelor) dengan varian rasa original, pandan dan the hijau. Selain itu juga terdapat produk nugget ayam maronggi. Perlu untuk merancang program lanjutan sebagai tindak lanjut dari kegiatan
Propagation of chrysanthemum through tissue culture can produce superior plants in large and uniform quantities and sterile cultures (motherstock) can be obtained so that they can be used as material for further propagation. This research was carried out at Tissue Culture Laboratory, Jember State Polytechnic from April to November 2022. The research design used was a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first factor is the variety which consists of 3 cultivar (Maruta Agrihort, Pinka Pinki and Suciono). The second factor was in vitro culture media consisting of 5 levels (control, MS+BA media 2.0 mg/L and IAA 1.0 mg/L, MS+BA 1.0 mg/L and IAA 1.0 mg/L media, MS+ banana extract media, MS+ coconut water media). So there were 15 treatment combinations with 3 replications for a total of 45 experimental units. Parameters observed included plant height, the day the shoots appear, the day the roots appear, number of leaves and number of roots. The conclusion this research is addition of organic matter to MS media was able to increase the growth of explants compared to MS media with the addition of synthetic PGR and the combination of MS media + coconut water had an average optimal growth yield on all parameters.
The development of vanilla seeds through tissue culture techniques with the addition of growth regulator kinetin aims to increase the success of shoot formation and growth of vanilla explants. The research was carried out from February to June 2021 at the Tissue Culture Laboratory Politeknik Negeri Jember. The research method used a single factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments which were repeated 5 times. The treatment was the addition of kinetin to Murashige-Skoog (MS) media with a concentration of 0, 1, 2, 3 mg/L. Data analysis used analysis of variance followed by a 5% or 1% BNT test. The results of the analysis showed that the addition of kinetin affected the initial germination time of vanilla explants with the fastest time being 13-17 days after inoculation at a kinetin concentration of 1-3 mg/L. The kinetin concentration of 3 mg/L also affected the wet weight of vanilla explants aged 8 weeks after inoculation with the highest average of 2.62 grams per explant. However, the addition of kinetin did not affect root length, root number and shoot length until the vanilla explants were 8 weeks old after inoculation. .
Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Lojejer Kecamatan Wuluhan Kabupaten Jember dengan mitra adalah petani penderes nira kelapa rakyat yang tergabung dalam dua kelompok tani, yaitu kelompok tani Rekesan Kepel dan kelompok tani Sulakdoro. Produksi utama petani adalah gula merah dari nira kelapa sehingga budidaya kelapa merupakan sumber penghasilan yang utama untuk mayoritas penduduk. Kegiatan budidaya kelapa rakyat seringkali terkendala serangan hama kumbang kelapa (Oryctes rhinoceros) sehingga produktivitas tanaman tidak bisa dicapai dengan optimal.Pengendalian hama dengan insektisida kimiawi akan memberikan dampak positif dengan matinya hama tetapi menimbulkan dampak negatif mengganggu keseimbangan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan alternatif pengendalian yang lebih aman dan berwawasan lingkungan, dengan menggunakan cendawan entomopatogen seperti Metarrhizium anisopliae. Sedangkan limbah kotoran ternak bisa dikembangkan menjadi pupuk organik yang akan meningkatkan kesuburan tanah sekaligus menekan dampak negatif penumpukan kotoran ternak yang belum termanfaatkan secara optimal. Produk pupuk organik plus pengendali hayati yang akan dikembangkan juga membuka peluang wirausaha baru di bidang produk pupuk organik dan pengendali hama kumbang kelapa yang berwawasan lingkungan.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pengembangan pupuk organik plus pengendali hayati sesuai diterapkan sekaligus membuka peluang wirausaha baru bagi mitra, (2) Pembekalan pengetahuan, pembekalan keterampilan serta demo plot mengenai pengembangan pupuk organik plus pengendali hayati mendapat tanggapan yang baik dan antusias yang tinggi dari mitra, dan (3) Tujuan dari kegiatan sudah tercapai dan sesuai dengan kerangka pemecahan masalah yang telah dirumuskan meskipun masih terdapat kendala yang dapat diantisipasi melalui forum komunikasi dan latihan yang berkesinambungan dari khalayak sasaran dengan didukung oleh pembinaan dari pihak yang terkait.
