The objective of this research was to analyze the hydrodynamics in eight sub-basins of the Branco River hydrographic basin. The methodology consisted of six stages, namely: documentary and bibliographic analysis; interpretation of thematic maps; on-site visits; field data collection; laboratory analysis and data tabulation. The hydrodynamic variables and sediment transport were verified in eight sections for a period of 18 months between January 2018 and June 2019. To obtain the bathymetry, an echo sounder was used and, to measure the flow velocity, the fluviometric windlass. To collect the suspended sediment, the Van Dorn bottle was used. The sub-basin of the Grande stream presented the lowest averages for: flow (0.84m³/s), suspended solid load (2.68 ton/day) and turbidity (9.42 NTU). The highest average flow (7.05 m³/s) was in the Bracinho stream, which is the main tributary. The study demonstrated that the vegetation cover, the slope and the type of soil directly influence the production of suspended sediments in the sub-basins. The study demonstrated that the environmental components - such as land use and cover, soil cover and relief - are directly related to the production of sediments throughout the year in the studied sub-basins.Keywords: Soils.
