Palavras-Chave: áreas úmidas, uso da terra, matéria orgânica particulada Abstract -This study aimed to evaluate, by physical fractionation, the association of organic carbon (OC) with granulometric fractions of soils of fields of murundus located at the Guaporé River hydrographic basin, southwest of the State of Mato Grosso. The sampling of soil were carried out between september and november 2011 in three different areas: native pastures in use, cultivated pastures and native areas without use. In each area were open minitrenches of 0,50 m × 0,50 m × 0,40 m and collected disturbed and undisturbed samples at the depths of 0,0-0,10, 0,10-0,20 and 0,20-0,30 m in three replications in completely randomized design. Were determined the carbon content (CO) and particulate carbon (COP), associated with the sand fraction and the organo-mineral carbon (COM), associated with argil + silt fractions. Was not observed difference between the environments evaluated for the variables evaluated in different depth. The highest levels of COM were observed at the depth of 0,0-0,10 m in all areas. It is concluded that the use of native pastures and cultivated pastures, until now, did not alter the contents of soil carbon as well as their associations with the granulometric fractions.
Increasing soil interventions due to occupation have generated impacts and changes leading to changes in the natural profile of soils. This research aims to identify and analyze the physical, chemical and morphological attributes in the city of Cáceres – Mato Grosso. The study was conducted in the urban perimeter of the city, where samples were collected in nine representative profiles distributed in the central, intermediate and peripheral areas of the center. Laboratory analyzes of chemical and physical aspects and morphological description were performed according to Embrapa and the Brazilian Soil Classification System. The soils found belong to the classes of Latossolos, Gleissolos and Plintossolos. We highlight the presence of exogenous materials and notable alterations resulting from anthropic occupation.
Tectona grandis L.f. (Teak) is a highly cultivated forest species in Brazil. When industrially processed, it generates a large amount of sawdust, a waste that has limited reuse and accumulates in the industrial yards. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of fresh teakwood sawdust on the development of Urochloa brizantha (Hochst. ex A.Rich.) R.D.Webster cv. Xaraés in a nursery. The treatments consisted of concentrations of 0, 5, 10, 20, 33 and 50% of sawdust, arranged in four randomized blocks in split-plots. At 45, 75 and 120 days, plant heigh (h), average tillers diameter (d), number of live (nll) and dead leaves per plant, fresh and dry mass of shoots and roots, and Dickson's quality index (dqi) were measured. There was a decrease in h growth, d, nll, fresh and dry mass of shoots and roots and in the dqi of the cv. Xaraés as it increased to concentration of wood sawdust in the substrate. This negative effect can be attributed to the high C/N ratio of sawdust (196/1), which influences the decomposition of organic matter. In addition, the possible Teak allelopathic effects, which are the subject of other studies, should be considered. Unlike the other variables, number of live leaves was not influenced by the treatment with 5% sawdust. Teakwood sawdust has negative effects on the U. brizantha cv. Xaraés development.
