Despite all the contemporary discussion about the relativity of the points of view, the value of "objectivity" seems still quite present mainly in the narrative of the media about itself. In this article, we will try to demonstrate how this notion of "objectivity" can be reinterpreted, in the limit, as an ideological expression. For this, we will focus on the notion of "objectivity" problematized by the Brazilian philosopher Marilena Chaui. We will make a journey based on specific writings of the extensive work of the philosopher, writings that were revised and improved in different texts in the last years. Our path will present, at first, an overfly by the definition made by Chaui about the term "ideology", going to the theme of its relationship with the idea of "objectivity", especially in regard to the role of the "objectivity" in the construction of the "ideology". Such concepts are Borges Junior, E.
The high level of abstraction necessary to teach data structures and algorithmic schemes has been more than a hindrance to students. In order to make a proper approach to this issue, we have developed and implemented during the last years, at the Computer Science Department of the Complutense University of Madrid, an innovative intelligent tutoring system for the interactive learning of data structures according to the new guidelines of the European Higher Education Area. In this paper, we present the main contributions to the design of this intelligent tutoring system. In the first place, we describe the tool called Vedya for the visualization of data structures and algorithmic schemes. In the second place, the Maude system to execute the algebraic specifications of abstract data types using the Eclipse system, by which it is possible to study from the more abstract level of a software specification up to its specific implementation in Java, thereby allowing the students a self-learning process. Finally, we describe the Vedya Professor module, designed to allow teachers to monitor the whole educational process of the students.
As the internet becomes part of everyday life, the need arises to study the adaptation of private international law systems to the new requirements. One of them is blockchain, as a decentralized technology, which carries with it some legal uncertainties, such as the legal nature of blockchains and shared digital records, including issues of jurisdiction and applicable law. In view of this, there is a need to reflect on whether the legal criteria currently applicable, from the point of view of private international law, are sufficiently clear.
The rapid technological change and its development have led to an era of technology and applications that are leading us to transversal changes, based on the data that feed the Internet. This change is taking place through the Internet of Things (IoT), machine-to-machine (m2m) communications, robotics, big data, blockchain, and artificial intelligence (AI). In this context, it can be seen how artificial intelligence and blockchain are opening up, posing specific legal challenges to those imposed by technologies. Recent developments in AI are the result of increased processing power. The emergence of new traceability and authentication as blockchain can allow recording assets, participant transactions, which can provide valuable information on the origin and history. These facts should lead to study and to make regulatory proposals and to study the existing legal framework.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
