Objective: About 10 years ago, Gratz and Roemer (2004) introduced the Difficulties in EmotionRegulation Scale (DERS), a 36-item self-report instrument measuring 6 areas of emotion regulation problems. Recently, Bjureberg et al. (2015) have introduced a new, briefer version of the DERS comprising only 16 of the 36 items included in the original version. Because no studies have yet crossvalidated the recently introduced 16-item DERS and the 36-item DERS has never been tested in Brazil, we sought to inspect the psychometric properties of scores from both DERS versions with a nonclinical Brazilian sample. Method: Participants were 725 adult volunteers aged 18-70 years (mean = 30.54, standard deviation = 10.59), 82.3% of whom were women. All were administered the DERS along with a number of other self-report and performance-based instruments. Data analyses inspected internal consistency, factor structure, and convergent as well as divergent validity of scores from both DERS versions. Results: Results show that scores from both DERS versions possess good psychometric properties. Interestingly, both versions correlated, in the expected direction, with psychopathology and showed no significant correlations with cognitive measures. Like in other studies, however, the Awareness factor of the 36-item DERS did not produce optimal validity and reliability indexes. Conclusion: Taken together, our findings indicate that the 16-item DERS may be preferred over the 36-item version and provide additional support to the differentiation between emotion regulation and cognitive tasks of emotional perception and abstract and verbal reasoning. Aim of the studyOur study investigates associations between social isolation and indicators of general mental health, well-being, depression, anxiety, loneliness, and stress in Brazilian adults. Variables to measure aspects to ease the isolation impact (ease-isolating variables) were also included.Subject or material and methods539 Brazilian adults were recruited by convenience from March 25 to April 07, 2020. We administered a questionnaire on isolation behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic, the WHO-5, the GHQ-12, the CLA, the GAD-7, the PSS-10, and the CES-D. To analyze data, we relied upon the network analysis approach.ResultsCOVID-19 isolation variables showed positive relationships with mental health indicators, and ease-isolating variables presented mixed associations with mental health indicators. For instance, satisfaction with the quality of social interactions connected strongly and positively with the well-being variable, while negatively with loneliness and general psychological symptoms.DiscussionOur hypotheses were partially confirmed.ConclusionsWe can conclude that the damage to mental health associated with social isolation during the pandemic can be minimized by maintaining satisfactory interpersonal relationships. We have three direct recommendations: mental health professionals should (a) elaborate strategies that contemplate the use of virtual tools to alleviate depressive feelings resulting from isolation, (b) give particular attention to risk groups that are most impacted by the isolation imposed by a pandemic situation and may suffer from loneliness, and (c) consider anxiety control strategies for the anxiogenic adverse reaction generated by the worldwide alert in times of disease outbreaks.

A proposta de uso do Zulliger controlando o número de respostas (R-Otimizado) é inédita e, com isso, é necessária a verificação empírica de suas evidências de validade, objetivo central deste estudo. Levando em conta as similaridades dos métodos de Zulliger e Rorschach, procurou-se evidências de validade para o Zulliger, aplicação R-otimizada, por meio da concordância com Rorschach nas variáveis relacionadas à depressão. Para a amostra, foram recrutados 39 sujeitos, com diagnóstico primário de depressão e que apresentaram sintomatologia depressiva na Escala Baptista de Depressão. Foram administrados os métodos de Zulliger e Rorschach de forma alternada para controle do efeito de um instrumento sobre o outro. Para as análises, foram selecionadas as variáveis relacionadas à depressão, segundo literatura prévia. Os resultados demonstraram evidências iniciais de validade para algumas variáveis relacionadas à depressão, melhorando a correlação entre elas, quando comparado a estudos anteriores que não utilizaram o Zulliger aplicação R-otimizada. Aim of the studyOur study aimed to investigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Brazilian healthcare workers who work directly with patients diagnosed with COVID-19.Subject or material and methods634 individuals divided into three groups. Non-health workers (n = 372) with a mean age of 36.6 years (SD = 9.14) and 85.5% female; Health Workers (n = 94) with a mean age of 37 years (SD = 7.97) and 90% female; COVID-19 Health Workers (n = 168) with a mean age of 36.23 years (SD = 7.97) and 90% female. We administer the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist - Civilian Version, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7, and Burnout Inventory. We conduct data collection via Google Forms.ResultsHealth workers working in the front line in the fight against COVID-19 showed higher levels of anxiety and psychological distress when compared to health professionals who do not deal directly with COVID-19 and professionals who are not in the area of health.DiscussionOur findings suggest that health professionals who work on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19 tend to have higher levels of concern and anguish about the future, a high level of stress, mental tiredness, irritation, and fatigue.ConclusionsThe findings indicate that these public demands psychological and psychiatric support to face the pandemic's challenges

RESUMO O objetivo desse estudo foi levantar e analisar ementas sobre ensino de avaliação psicológica dos cursos de Psicologia no Brasil. Para tanto, foram acessadas as ementas disponíveis em sites de instituições de ensino cadastradas pelo MEC. Após seleção das ementas, estas foram divididas em unidades de texto e classificadas com base nas Diretrizes para Ensino de Avaliação Psicológica. Como resultados, foram recuperadas 478 ementas provindas de 133 instituições. A distribuição de disciplinas foi do primeiro ao nono semestre, com ênfase no quarto, quinto e sexto. A carga horária é considerada insuficiente dada a quantidade de assuntos básicos a serem tratados. Também há ênfase no ensino tecnicista de testes em detrimento de disciplinas que visam compreensão mais ampla do processo, como o uso de técnicas de avaliação (entrevista, observação, entre outros), elaboração de laudos e psicometria. Emotional expression is considered an important part of social interaction, with overt emotional behaviour functioning as nonverbal means of communication. The ability to express emotions conveys information regarding one's feelings, needs, intentions, and preoccupations, with specific bodily changes associated with their corresponding emotional states (Ekman, 2003;Matsumoto, Keltner, Shiota, O'Sullivan, & Frank, 2008;Niedenthal, Krauth-Gruber, & Ric, 2006;Strongman, 2003). This includes typical facial and bodily alterations whenever someone is, for instance, feeling angry during an unfair situation, or afraid of being exposed to a dangerous situation.As important as expression is the ability to adequately recognize manifestations of emotional states. Emotional perception is shown to correlate with social abilities (Chen, 2014) , and abstract (AR) and verbal reasoning (VR) tasks. RMET items were studied with Rasch model. Results indicate that its items are concentrated at a lower level of difficulty, lacking difficult items to assess higher levels of emotional perception. Both RMET and PEP showed significant correlations with AR and VR, corroborating other studies showing emotional perception is related to other types of intelligence. However the correlation between RMET and PEP was lower than expected (r = .43), suggesting perception of emotions in the eyes is only partially related to perception in the whole face.Keywords: facial expressions, intelligence, psychological assessment, item response theory Validade do Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test em uma Amostra BrasileiraResumo: O Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET) é utilizado internacionalmente para avaliação da percepção emocional, mas são poucos os estudos de validade com amostras brasileiras. O teste foi respondido por 1440 participantes, juntamente com o Teste Informatizado de Percepção de Emoções Primárias (PEP) e provas de raciocínio abstrato (RA) e verbal (RV). Os itens do RMET foram estudados com modelo de Rasch. Os resultados indicaram que os itens estão concentrados em um nível menor de dificuldade, com falta de itens difíceis para avaliar níveis mais altos de percepção emocional. Tanto o RMET quanto o PEP mostraram correlações significativas com RA e RV, corroborando estudos que mostram que percepção emocional está relacionada a outros tipos de inteligência. ResumoObjetivou-se investigar o que se tem produzido no Brasil sobre a temática do uso de instrumentos projetivos/expressivos na avaliação psicológica de pacientes com esquizofrenia. Para tanto, fez-se uma revisão da literatura brasileira nas bases de dados Scielo, Lilacs, Medline, Pepsic e Index Psicologia a partir dos descritores "avaliação e esquizofrenia" e um dos seguintes termos: Rorschach, TAT, HTP, Pfister, Zulliger, Palográfico ou PMK. Foram selecionados dez artigos a partir dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Nos últimos dez anos foram publicados 80% dos artigos encontrados, sendo o Rorschach o instrumento mais utilizado nesse contexto. Não foram encontrados estudos com os instrumentos HTP, Palográfico, PMK e Zulliger. Apesar do baixo número de estudos na literatura brasileira, considera-se que o uso de instrumentos projetivos na avaliação psicológica de pessoas com esquizofrenia enriquece o diagnóstico e a verificação de potencialidades e dificuldades emocionais e da percepção da realidade nessa população. PROJECTIVE TESTS IN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF SCHIZOPHRENIA: A REVIEW OF BRAZILIAN LITERATURE AbstractThis article aimed to investigate the Brazilian's production about the use of projective/expressive instruments for psychological assessment in patients with schizophrenia. To do that, we made a review of Brazilian literature in databases Scielo, Lilacs, Medline, Pepsic, and Index Psicologia from descriptors "assessment and schizophrenia" and one of the terms: Rorschach, TAT, HTP, Pfister, Zulliger, Palográfico, or PMK. Ten papers were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Eight percent of the articles were published in the past decade, and the Rorschach is the most used instrument in this context. No studies were found with tests HTP, Palográfico, PMK, or Zulliger. Despite the reduced number of studies in the Brazilian literature, the use of projective instruments in psychological assessment of schizophrenic enriches the diagnosis and verification of capabilities and emotional difficulties and the perception of reality in this population.
