New oligomeric cyclic silylcarbodiimides 1-3 are synthesised by the reaction of the respective dichlorosilanes with cyanarnide. From the resulting reaction mixture with dichlorodimethylsilane the tetrameric compound of the hypothetical [(CH3)2Si=N-CN] is isolated. In this molecule sixteen atoms build a nearly planar ring structure with a special steric arrangement of the groups. This oligomeric silylcarbodiimides present a new kind of precursors for the pyrolytic synthesis of ceramics in the ternary system SiCN.Im Rahmen unserer Arbeiten zur Synthese neuer molekularer Siliciumverbindungen, die sich durch Pyrolyse in der Festphase zu siliciumkeramischen Materialien umsetzen lassen, untersuchten wir die Eignung oligomerer silylsubstituierter Carbodiimide.
N2O3 (1) may be described as “nitrosyl nitrite”. Structural investigations with the modified Guinier technique revealed a nearly planar molecule; the nitrite and nitrosyl groups are only slightly twisted (3.7°) about the NN bond. Indications that the structure of N2O5 should be revised were also found. The picture shows the unit cell of 1.
I ,I ,3,3 -Tetrakis(dimethylamin0) -1 h5,3h5diphosphete, 1, reacts with cyanoformic acid methyl ester to form two isomers of the title compound 2. Properties, NMR, mass, and IR spectra of 2, as well as the molecular and crystal structure of the E isomer of 2, are described and discussed.
