The use of complementary and alternative medicines including dietary supplements, herbals and special diets to prevent or treat disease continues to be popular. The following paper provides a description of an alternative dietary approach to the self-management and treatment of cancer, the Bill Henderson Protocol (BHP). This diet encourages daily intake of raw foods, a combination of cottage cheese and flaxseed oil and a number of supplements. Some foods and food groups are restricted (e.g., gluten, meat, dairy). Early background theory that contributed to the protocol’s development is presented as is a summary of relevant evidence concerning the anti-cancer fighting properties of the individual components. Supplement intake is considered in relation to daily recommended intakes. Challenges and risks to protocol adherence are discussed. As with many complementary and alternative interventions, clear evidence of this dietary protocol’s safety and efficacy is lacking. Consumers of this protocol may require guidance on the ability of this protocol to meet their individual nutritional needs.

Man erwa.rmt vorsichtig, damit das Oxyd vom 01 durchtriinkt wird. Dann steigert man die Temperatur und gluht bei SOOO dic Substanz weii3. Nach dem Abkiihlen bringt man den groiiten Teil des Oxyds mittels eines Glasstabes in ein 100 ml-Becherglas und gibt 10 ml Wasser zu. Der Rest in der Schale wird mit einigen Tropfen Wasscr beleuchtet, mit 15 ml des Salpeter-Schwcfelsaurc-Gemisches versetzt und das Oxyd durch Erwarmen mit einer kleinen Flamme gelost. Die Losuug gibt man in das Becherglas und spult die Schale noch zweimal mit 10 ml des Saure-Gemisches nach, wobei jedesmal erwarmt wird. Zur volligen Losung des Oxyds erhitzt man das Becherglas. Man entfernt nun die Flamme und ruhrt die Losung mit einem Glasstab 10 Sekunden lang durch, dainit sich eine Uberhitzung ausgleirht. Hier-auI laflt man aus einer Pipette mit nicht zu enger Oyifnung 15 in1 der Ammoniummolybdat-Losung in die Mitte der Flussigkeit einflieflen, ruhrt nochmals gut durch und lafit uber Nacht, besser aber 36 Std.; stehen. %um Wagen diciit cin I'orzellan[iegel 12 2 oder ein J c i i x r Glasfiltertiegel I G4, den man folgendermal3en vorbereitet: S.
