Paper Chromatography in the Fat Field XVI: Further Experiments on Separation of Fattv AcidsA report on the sepatation of higher fatty acids b y means of partition chromatography on paper. The results with higher hydrocarbons as stationaryand diluted alcohols as mobile phase were not entirely satisfactory. Therefore, to avoid mutual interference of fatty acids, acetic acid!water mixtures were used as mobile phase, with the result that a flawless separation of higher fatty acids from capric to stearic acid was achieved.
