The life of society, along with the development of the times, makes the problems that occur in life also develop. The development of complex problems makes science necessary to adapt to the conditions that occur in society. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explain Adinugraha's thoughts: textual and contextual approaches to understanding Islamic studies to deal with life's problems. Methodology: The method used in this research is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The type of research used is character studies that examine Adinugraha's thoughts. This data collection technique takes sources from Adinugraha's journals and other journals that are relevant to this research. Results: The results of his research explain that Islamic studies are used as a guide in everyday life in society and in dealing with problems. To comprehend Islamic studies, an approach is required, among which are textual and contextual approaches.In essence, the textualist group is more concerned with the outward meaning of the text. while the contextualist group develops reasoning about the context of the text. It should produce a comprehensive interpretation in Islamic studies by using textual and contextual approaches to interpreting revelation. Based on this explanation, textual and contextual approaches can be used to understand Islamic teachings. Therefore, ideally, a comprehensive interpretation must be carried out using a combination of two approaches at once, namely the textual and contextual approaches. Keywords: 1. Adinugraha Thought 2. The values of Islamic education are a characteristic, inherent nature which consists of the rules and perspectives adhered to by the Islamic religion. In the “yatiman” tradition of the month of Suro there are Islamic educational values, namely in aqidah, sharia, and morals. Some people in implementing Suroan have mixed with cultural acts, and are against Islam. However, as time goes on, people prioritize something according to Islamic teachings. This study aims to describe the values of Islamic education in the “yatiman” tradition in the month of Suro in Panjang Baru Village, RW IX, Pekalongan City. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of field research. The data source used is based on the results of observations, interviews conducted with the Long Baru Village Head, the Head of RW IX, Panjang Baru Village, Head of RT, Islamic Religious Leaders, Elders of Panjang Baru Village RW IX, and Orphans, and documentation. Data analysis in this study used a qualitative descriptive through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of the “yatiman” “tradition in the month of Suro in Kelurahan Panjang Baru RW IX Pekalongan began with Tahlil, prayer together, and the Suroan night feast then continued with tausiyah activities and donations for orphans the next day. The values of Islamic education are contained in the values of aqidah, sharia values, and moral values.

This study aims to clarify certain ideas regarding Al-Yusriyyah Ash-Shdhiliyyah Siddqiyyah Tariqa and its function in religious moderation. Tareqa can be a new formula in realising harmony in religious diversity, in which the teaching principle of Tariqa is the spirit of improving moral and character. This is very important in living in diversity. By implementing Tariqa, a person understands religion not only from the outward side but also from the inner part of religion, so that it is expected to be able to find the substance, namely, the true truth that is universal. From this point of view, the Sufism paradigm seems to have advantages that the person is more tolerant of differences, both internal and external. A field study was conducted to achieve the objective of this research. Particularly, this study used an interdisciplinary approach, that is, a combination of religious and social approaches. A participatory observation, deep interviews and documentations were employed to collect the data of this study. The subjects of this research were adherents of the Tariqa in Cairo, Egypt and Indonesia. This study reveals that Tariqa has teachings and values in realising religious moderation in a plural society. This Tariqa could be an agency of religious moderation. The significance of this study is to prove the power of Tariqa and Sufism as agents of change in plural societies against extremist and intolerable attitudes both between devotees of particular religions and between adherents of different religions. Accordingly, it can promote a peaceful and tolerant way of life and reduce violence. This study supports earlier research that suggested Sufism as an option for governmental action in a plural society to counteract radicalism and intolerance.Contributions: The results of this study are expected to contribute to providing suggestions to the stakeholders in dealing with the rise of religious intolerance and radicalism both globally and locally. Moreover, the ritual, doctrinal and social interaction of Tareqa Al-Yusriyyah As-Siddiqiyyah Ash-Shadhiliyyah can be a source of reference and inspiration for the policy of stakeholders in deradicalising religion and creating religious moderation.
