Show more

“…Arvidsson et al (2011) and Bueno et al (2013) also agree with this claim. There is no standard value indicative of risk of drift or safe application; however, values below 15% of droplets with diameter smaller than 100 μm are considered more adequate for environmentally safe applications, with lower risk of drift (Bueno et al, 2013).…”

“…At the pressure of 200 kPa, a value of 93.98 μm was obtained, which decreased to 68.39 μm when the pressure increased to 500 kPa. This effect of pressure was observed by Bueno et al (2013), working with fan-type hydraulic nozzles (AD IA 110-02 and AD IA 110-04) and by Cunha (2007) for nozzles of the series API 110-02 and 110-04 and for low-drift nozzles of the series ADI 110-02. Likewise, as VPD increased for a certain operating pressure, there was a reduction in this parameter of approximately 0.08 μm per each hPa increase in VPD.…”

“…Spraying produces drops of different sizes and, therefore, it is required technical criteria to analyze and quantify comparing droplet sizes produced by other equipment. Thus, many researchers have used the laser diffraction method to study and analyze the droplet spectrum of different equipment (MOTA et al, 2010;CHECHETTO et al 2013;BUENO et al, 2013;OLIVEIRA et al, 2013).…”

“…This is believed to be due to the fact that fine droplets have a very reduced life expectancy, while the medium droplets suffer less risk of drift and evaporation (Cunha et al, 2014). On the other hand, the air induction twin flat spray nozzles, because they produced larger droplets, can be one of the alternatives adopted to reduce the intensity of the drift phenomenon (Bueno et al, 2013).…”
