The aim of the paper is to contribute to the research on education for environmental citizenship in a comparative perspective. The central concept of education is the complex issue of knowledge. In the present paper, different knowledge forms, knowledge use, and types of knowledge production in environmental education are analysed for two EU countries, France and Hungary, together with two candidate countries, Serbia and Turkey. We review the most important theories and publications, the research questions and the methods considered to be examples for our present work. The second part of the paper presents the case studies according to the theoretical priorities. Evidence-based papers on cases in different European countries illustrating and discussing the evaluation of the types of knowledge used in environmental education and sustainability projects, as well as analysing the power-related components of knowledge use are reviewed. In the final part, case studies are compared and conclusions are drawn.

Les « éducations à » émanent des instances internationales, prennent en charge des questions de société, et se positionnent au moins partiellement dans le champ politique. Il s'agit donc de s'interroger sur les conditions curriculaires permettant de contrer les risques de dérives normatives pour tendre vers une citoyenneté politique. La démarche s'appuie sur les méthodes de la pensée critique, relève quatre habiletés nécessaires, propose des outils concrets pour les mettre en oeuvre (épistémologie, représentations sociales, bibliographie, formalisation de critères, démarches systémiques de recherche de sens), et montre aussi ce que cela donne dans le cadre de l'éducation au développement durable. ABSTRACT. The "educations for" emanate from international authorities, set in charge of societal issues, and position at least partially in the political arena. It is thus a question of wondering about the curriculaires conditions allowing to counter the risks of normative drift to aim towards a political citizenship. The approach(initiative) leans on the methods of the critical thought, raises(finds) four necessary skills, proposes concrete tools to implement(operate) them (epistemology, social representations, bibliography, formalization of criteria, systematic steps(initiatives) of search for meaning), and also show what it gives within the framework of the education to the sustainable development. The demand for qualified human resources is needed to compete in the free market era. Unfortunately, Indonesian human resources are still considered low compared to the international professional and as a result, industry finds it difficult to recruit qualified and proficient human resource in a prompt time. In the level of undergraduate, the graduates who possess skill and ability are lacking. It is because the graduates mostly apply for a job which is not in line with their study program. This study aims at (1) describing a graduates occupation and job profile, and (2) identifying causal factors of the unsynchronized professional occupation of graduates with the preceding Major during their study in the last three years. A number of at least 10% of the entire subjects which is recorded in Alumnus Book Record of Faculty of Engineering and who are able to be contacted were taken as a sample. This study used semi-structured filling questionnaire instrument which was collected through electronic media such as phone calls, WhatsApp, FaceBook, and Instagram. This study showed that (1) the graduates who decide to become an educator (teacher/lecturer) is 36%. A number of 21% graduates decide to work in industry or commerce. A number of 17% graduates decide to work within government agency or institution and the rest of 26% decide to start up their business or become an entrepreneur and (2) there are two major factors of causal factors of the unsynchronized occupation of graduates with the areas of expertise during the study in university. The factors are internal (the deficiency in mastering materials and competencies during the study in university, the low motivation to become an educator, and the low self-concept within the individual) and external (the deficiency of educational facility and infrastructure during the study in university, the availability of synchronized job in their native land, and the limited connection of the graduates).
