COVID-19 pandemic has changed the order of people's lives, including the education sector. The transition from conventional learning to online learning often encounters obstacles, including determining the appropriate type of online learning media. One solution that can be used is to use learning media in the form of WhatsApp assisted by Edmodo in online learning. This study aims to determine the effect of using online learning media in the form of WhatsApp assisted by Edmodo in improving learning outcomes in terms of students' learning motivation. The experimental technique used was a 2x2 factorial design. The study population was all students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Bukittinggi. Sampling was done by using the purposive proportional sampling technique. The learning outcome instrument is a written test, and the learning motivation instrument is a questionnaire, the data analysis technique used two-way ANOVA test and Bonferroni advanced test. The results showed that the average value of learning outcomes in the control class was 79.38 lower than the experimental class, with an average value of 83.50. Significant differences were also obtained in the group of students with high learning motivation, with an average of 94.00 in experimental and 86.00 in the control classes. Different results were obtained in the group of students with low learning motivation, which had an average of 73.00 in the experimental class and 72.75 in the control class. The learning outcomes obtained are influenced by the interaction of choosing the type of media online learning with students' learning motivation

“…The use of educational social sites such as Edmodo can fulfill these needs which has been proven to increase student interest, motivation, cooperation and student achievement. Edmodo system helps students to collect assignments using Edmodo which is very efficient and friendly in nature because everything is delivered online by informing students about assignments which only need to access it via mobile and most of the students nowadays have their own mobile (Azmi & Ashari, 2017;Munastiwi, 2021).The implementation of online learning during the pandemic has reflected a 21st century modern society that is able to survive in various conditions and situations. It can be concluded at the action and observation stage of this research that the learning method of jurisprudential inquiry assisted by the Edmodo application can improve class B Diploma 4 Electrical Engineering students at Yogyakarta State University Class of 2021 to think critically at high levels of seeing and assessing problems in the community and can provide solutions for the common good.…”

Jurisprudential Inquiry Based on Edmodo to Improving Students Critical Thinking in Citizenship Education Courses

This study aims to prove and analyze the application of the jurisprudential inquiry method based on the Edmodo electronic learning media to improve students' critical thinking skills in the Citizenship Education course. This type of research uses classroom action research by developing a model from Stephen Kemmis & Robin McTaggart in the form of a cycle of planning, action and observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 32 students. The data collection technique used a structured observation instrument and a free description test. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics frequencies with the help of the SPSS 24 application to process the data from the student critical thinking observation questionnaire, the one sample t test with SPSS 24 to see the results of student learning completeness, and the nonparametric test - binomal test with SPSS 24 to see the results classical student learning mastery. The results showed that the high level of critical thinking of students in the Citizenship Education course by applying the jurisprudential inquiry learning method assisted by the Edmodo application. Learning Citizenship Education is no longer a boring subject for students because lecturers can apply learning methods and learning media that are combined innovatively, creatively, and effectively.

The use of Edmodo-based blended learning in reading comprehension at Surabaya Merchant Marine Polytechnic. This study used both online and offline lectures. Edmodo was used by students and lecturers in online lectures. Students and lecturers discussed the topics they have seen and studied at homes. This learning model is preferred by students. This study used three instruments: participant observation, in-depth interview, and questionnaire. The study's subjects were lecturers and students at Merchant Marine Polytechnic of Surabaya. The results showed an intensity and quality of student to student and student-lecturer interactions. The students preferred the Edmodo-based blended learning model. The workload for students is moderate. Thus, the Blended Learning model operates well in reading comprehension classes. Keyword; Edmodo, Blended Learning, Reading Comprehension
