Objective: to assess the results of a training program focused on the well-being of elderly individuals from the perspective of users, through the opinion on the program impact on their active aging. Methods: a qualitative research, carried out from an intentional sample, consisting of 10 elderly women. Interview conducted by focus group, recorded and transcribed, which constituted the corpus of analysis. Lexical analysis of textual data was performed using the Alceste software. Results: from the analysis, three classes emerged: 1) Health-Activity; 2) Activity-Expectation; 3) Mind-Body Unit. The Activity-Expectation class stands out. Conclusions: the research revealed that elderly individuals consider it important to have expectation, which results in satisfaction and involvement with life as well as the ability to remain active in a perspective of mind-body unit. Future projects should focus on enhancing mental and physical functions to promote active and healthy aging.

Goal: this paper goal is presenting sustainability experiences using Life Cycle Assessment perspective in two Latin America higher education institutions (HEI). What similarities do these HEI have in common regarding sustainability? What are the major challenges they face? In which way is Circular Economy effective on university campuses? Since universities face challenges posed by a changing and competitive environment, there ought to be sustainable management that is more appropriate to higher education institutions’ real environment, which is characterized by complexity, paradoxes, ambiguities, and conflicts. Methodology/Approach: Multiple Case Study. A resilience threshold of global ecosystem should be considered. Ecosystem dynamics require effort in mapping its functions. Results: the results considered that the difference between environmental approach failure and success lies in knowing how to realign their strategic plans. Limitations of the investigation: comparing private and public HEI and different levels of education (technical, undergraduate and graduate courses). Practical implication: the practical implication leads to an understanding that Circular Economy in HEI can be perceived as a guideline to innovation towards a more sustainable economy. Originality/value: the originality/value of this work is the ability of enabling scientists to empathize with both Brazıl and Colombia’s LCA perspectives in HEI.

Este estudo consiste em analisar como se estabelece a (re)construção de concepções de inter-relações Ciência-Tecnologia-Sociedade (CTS) de um grupo de bolsistas do Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência (Pibid), durante uma discussão a partir do documentário “A história das coisas”. Para a geração dos dados fez-se uma filmagem, seguida de transcrição e minutagem de todas as falas dos participantes. Com base nas análises centradas na interpretação de significados das falas dos sujeitos, tendo em vista a dimensão de seus efeitos ideológicos e políticos, emergiu um quadro de categorias de concepções críticas/reducionistas de inter-relações CTS diretamente relacionadas aos mitos da superioridade das decisões tecnocráticas, da perspectiva salvacionista/redentora atribuída à ciência e tecnologia, do determinismo tecnológico e do crescimento econômico ilimitado. Em suma, depreende-se que o documentário “A história das coisas”, quando trabalhado em contextos específicos, tais como o Pibid, tem potencial de (re)construir concepções críticas de inter-relações CTS. Com indicativos para avançar com as práticas de educação CTS no Pibid, considera-se bastante profícuo que esse programa venha a se consolidar como política de Estado que contribua para reestruturar a formação de professores de Ciências em nosso país.
