Dual-Mode Dual-Band Bandpass Filter With Asymmetrical Transmission Zeros

Abstract: This paper presents a high-selectivity dual-mode dual-band bandpass filter with good cutoff signal rejection. The high-selectivity dual-mode dual-band bandpass filter is designed by an asymmetrical transmission zero (TZ). The asymmetrical transmission zeros next to the upper sideband of the first resonant filter and the TZ at the lower sideband of the second passband filter are combined to form a dual-mode dual-band filter. The locations of the TZ are designed at the side passbands of the filters in order to f… Show more

“…In the construction of filters, microstrip trans mission lines with loaded stubs also produce TZs at certain frequencies. For instance, multi-mode stub-loaded resonator was proposed in [23], and a dual-band BPF with th dual-mode operation was built in [24] employing stubs-loaded UIRs. Moreover, two single-band filters with common input and output coupled-feed lines can be combined to create dual-band filters [25,26], although these filters can be challenging to debug and take up a lot of circuit space.…”

“…In addition, microstrip transmission lines with stubs loaded can also generate TZs at some specified frequencies, so they are often used to design filters. A simple dualmode dual-band BPF with asymmetrical TZs was presented in [13], which applied stubs-loaded UIRs. Another paper [14] proposed a compact BPF using multi-mode stub-loaded resonator.…”

“…In [1,2], the asymmetric transmission zero technique to develop dual pass band filter was described with excellent selectivity and good IL. But the overall size of the filter is an issue to discuss with.…”
