Design and rationale for parametres of the seed-fertilizer seeder coulter for subsoil broadcast seeding

Abstract: For sowing grain crops on stubble, stubble seeders with tine coulters are used, which perform technological operations in one pass. However, they do not meet the requirements of the agricultural machinery to ensure an even distribution of seeds in the sub-spear space. The subsoil no-drill planting creates the most favorable conditions for growth and development of cultivated crops and at the same time, grain crop yields are increased on average by 10…30%. Using no-drill planting, seeders equipped with spear co… Show more

“…Expression (13) shows that the height of the thorn depends on the radius of the cylinder and half of the average taper angle of the root crop (figure 5) For the accepted value of the radius of the cylinder of the active fork of 0.036 m and half of the average taper angle of the root crop of 10-16 °, the height of the spike, calculated by expression (13), will vary from 0.5 to 1.5 mm. Considering that the calculation was carried out for an absolutely rigid cylinder and spikes, the height of elastic spikes, equal to 5-7 mm, adopted in the design of the working body, is justified.…”

“…where D c is the diameter of the soil clod (0.10...0.12 m); φ 3 , φ 4 is the angle of friction of the soil clod on the soil and the rim material, degrees (φ 3 +φ 4 =55...65 o ). Taking into account the calculated values of the tractive resistance and the calculations of the minimum allowable diameters using the ratio (7), the values of the diameters D 2 and D 3 should be selected from the range of 0.30...0.40 m.…”
