“…According to their records, mucosal thickening showed the highest percentage. [9,15] In agreement with Hammuda A.A. and Ghoneim M.M., [16] who conducted a study on patients having chronic sinusitis with the criteria of Category 2 that showed insignificant difference between the groups. The results of the current study also revealed no significant difference between the two groups in the average gained bone height, that was 7.24 ± 1.45 mm and 7.23 ± 1.78 mm, in groups I and II respectively.…”

“…In addition, trauma caused by surgical trauma and heat generation in the preparation of the cave will lead to the appearance of an inflammatory response, which in turn induces the activation of osteoclasts and promotes bone resorption [ 17 , 18 ]. At the same time, because the bone will cause bone resorption after being squeezed to a certain extent, the vertical height of the bone will be reduced, and when the implant is implanted for repair, the surrounding bone will be tighter and the bone resorption will be further increased [ 19 ]. In addition, the results of this study showed that the bleeding index, plaque index, and probing depth of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group ( P < 0.05), suggesting that maxillary sinus lift was more helpful for the reconstruction of periodontal tissue in patients with implant restoration in the maxillary posterior region, reducing the damage to periodontal tissue.…”
