Connection of the publication with planned research works.The article is presented as part of the planned research work of the Department of Pharmacology on "Experimental Substantiation of Combined Use of Cardiotropic Drugs" (Registration No. 0111U009417). Introduction.In addition to vitamins and hormones, micro -and macroelements are necessary for the functioning of the body and normal functioning of organs and systems. In previous publications, the pharmacological properties of zinc, iron, selenium, amino acids were revealed, and their role in the functioning of the body and the development of new drugs was determined.At the same time, significant attention is currently focused on the role of magnesium, which is a key microelement in the body and is second only to potassium in terms of content. Magnesium, the twelfth element of the The article discusses the role of magnesium in the body, which is one of the main intracellular elements that plays a leading role in the activity of vital organs, participates in many cellular functions including signal transmission, energy production, protein metabolism, and acts as a molecular stabilizer for RNA and DNA ribosomes. Hypomagnesemia leads to disturbances in the cardiovascular, nervous, immune, and digestive systems. Based on magnesium, mono (magnesium sulfate, magnesium citrate, etc.) and complex preparations (MagneВ6, Maalox, ATP forte, etc.) have been created and are being created. Imbalances in magnesium content are associated with the development of cardiovascular diseases such as arterial hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure, as well as the occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases of the CNS (parkinsonism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia), as magnesium is involved not only in nucleic acid metabolism but also in signal transmission in the CNS. Therefore, monitoring magnesium levels in the cardiovascular, nervous, and other systems may be a target for the influence of magnesium preparations. In individuals with digestive tract diseases, changes in magnesium content have also been identified in the cardiovascular system and CNS. Changes in magnesium content are associated with the occurrence of cardiovascular and digestive tract diseases in children, as well as the course of pregnancy in women. Magnesium orotate has been cited in the medical literature for the past three years as a possible adjuvant in some pediatric and adult gastroenterological disorders associated with dysbiosis. Studies also focus on the possibility of adding magnesium orotate in psychiatric disorders’ treatment, such as major depression and anxiety. The most relevant element in these studies is the efficiency of magnesium orotate therapy in cases with both gastroenterological and psychiatric symptoms. This article proposes a literature review, focused on the studies published in the last three years, targeting magnesium orotate treatment and probiotic supplementation in patients with both digestive and psychiatric symptoms. Moreover, this review will compare the efficiency of magnesium orotate and probiotics within both the pediatric and adult communities, focusing on the possibility of gut–brain axis modulation and its involvement in the clinical evolution of these patients.

Influence of Magnesium on the State of the Cardiovascular System in Children With Chronic Tonsilitis

The aim of the study was to evaluate the condition of the cardiovascular system and the effect of the combined preparation of magnesium and vitamin B6 in children with secondary cardiomyopathy on the background of chronic tonsillitis. Materials and methods: 100 children at the aged of 13–17 years were surveyed, including 60 patients with secondary cardiomyopathy with chronic tonsillitis. And the group I consisted of 45 children receiving standard treatment, group II – 15 patients who, along with standard treatment, received the drug magnesium. The control group consisted of 40 healthy children. To assess the condition of the cardiovascular system and vegetative regulation, we performed electrocardiographic examination (ECG), exercise test and ECG control, cardiointervalography with clinoortostatic test. The concentration of magnesium in the serum was determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Also, we have provided the requirements of the principles of bioethics and drafted a protocol in accordance with the basic principles of the Helsinki Declaration. Results: In addition to the standard treatment of children with magnesium drug, there was a significant decrease in the frequency of sinus arrhythmias, disorders of the intraventricular conduction, and the processes of repolarization, extrasystole, sinus suchchardia were not observed in any of the patients. The normalization of magnesium in the serum of patients was observed. Conclusions: Supplementation of combination therapy with magnesium and B6 helped to improve myocardial electrophysiology and cardiac output, as well as to normalize the serum magnesium in children with secondary cardiomyopathy.
