The in situ digestibility of dry matter (ISDDM) was assessed in three Holstein cows (560 ± 23 kg) with ruminal cannula. The proximal and Van Soest variables were analyzed with a complete randomized design, and for the variable ISDDM, a randomized block design was used. Significant differences for ISDDM (P≤0.05) between the Brachiaria varieties were found, with the highest percentages for the cv. B. decumbens Stapf and B. brizantha Marandú (63.9 and 63.2%, respectively). The diet with 10% C. cajan had average percentages of CP, NDF and ADF of 8.7, 70.7 and 47.6%, respectively, for all the Brachiaria varieties used in the study. It was found that diets with B. decumbens and B. Mulato II plus 10% of C. cajan were the best in terms of CP, NDF, ADF and ISDDM (9.3, 70.5, 46.4 and 64.1% and 8.6, 69.9, 50.3 and 63.5%, respectively). The results of this research showed that the value of CP meets the minimum requirements of nitrogen in the ration and that the ISDDM, DM, CF, NDF, ADF and ADL values are within the ranges reported for the genus Brachiaria.

The aim of this work was evaluate the bromatological quality, the degradability of dry matter and the mitigation potential of the forage from the different silvopastoral arrangements in three shade levels (0, 30 y 60%). This study was carried out between October 2012 and September 2013, in the La Candelaria farm from the Antioquia University, Colombia. The arrangements contained within Brachiaria grasses (Brachiaria brizantha cv toledo, Brachiaria decumbens and Brachiaria hibrido cv mulato II) alone or associated with Tithonia diversifolia and Cratilya argentea in silvopastoral arrangements. Evaluation was made in forage of forty days, the chemical composition, content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, degradation of dry matter and in vitro methane production were determined. The arrangement used (grass alone or associated with shrubs affected signi cantly the concentration of protein and linoleic acid (p<0.05). Not effect was observed in the arrangement, level of shade and interaction arrangement x shade in the degradability of dry mater after 48 h (p>0.05). However, pre-planned comparisons indicated that the association of Brachiaria brizantha cv toledo with shrubs improved the degradability of dry matter (MS) at 48 h, and was observed that the interaction shade x arrangement affected the dynamic degradation of MS. The factors evaluated (arrangement and shade) did not affect the in vitro methane emission.

Esse comportamento nos teores N ao longo da rebrotação do capim tropical já foram observados na literatura (Quintino et al, 2013e Paula et al, 2012. Pelo menos em parte, essa resposta está relacionada com a mobilidade do nutriente na planta, pela variação na demanda do nutriente ao longo do período de rebrotação associado a um mecanismo de diluição do N e K com a maior produção de biomassa e, por fim, pela instabilidade do nutriente na solução do solo.…”

Objetivou-se avaliar a extração, massa de raízes, sua colonização por fungos micorrízicos e a eficiência de utilização de nutrientes pelo Capim-Piatã manejado sob lotação intermitente com diferentes alturas pré-pastejo. Os tratamentos consistiram em três alturas de pré-pastejo, 30, 40 e 50 cm com quatro repetições de sub-piquetes, totalizando 12 unidades experimentais, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em uma área de 6,6 hectares (ha), a qual foi dividida em 12 sub-piquetes. A altura de manejo influenciou na massa seca da parte aérea (MSPA) e na massa seca do sistema radicular (MSR), com maiores valores para os pastos manejados mais altos, porém, a altura pré-pastejo não alterou a relação entre a MSPA e MSR as quais apresentam proporcionalidade. A MSR e o percentual de raízes colonizadas apresentaram valores médios de 1,2 ±0,14 e 55%, respectivamente. Pastos manejados mais altos incrementaram o componente colmo, diluindo os teores de N e K da forragem. Mas em função da maior massa por ciclo extraíram pontualmente maiores valores de N = 127,1; P = 10,3 e K = 111,3 em kg ha-1, os quais foram contrabalanceados pelo menor número de ciclos, resultando em maior extração de P e K ao longo da estação de crescimento para os pastos de 30 e 40 cm. A massa seca de raízes apresentou proporcionalidade com a massa seca da parte aérea do Capim-Piatã. As alturas pré-pastejo não modificam a colonização das raízes por fungos micorrízicos. Somente os teores de N e K na forragem de Capim-Piatã foram afetados pelas alturas pré-pastejo. As variações na massa seca de forragem produzida, modificaram o padrão extração de N, P e K e a extração anual de N em Neossolo Quartzarênico Órtico típico.
