RESUMO Objetivo investigar se existe associação entre os sintomas vocais, a queixa vocal e as condições de trabalho e da voz autorreferidas por teleoperadores. Método participaram 72 teleoperadores, de ambos os gêneros, atuantes em uma central de atendimento em emergência. Eles responderam ao questionário que levantou dados pessoais, queixa vocal, sintomas vocais e condições de trabalho. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio do Teste Quiquadrado, Teste exato de Fisher e do Teste Mann-Whitney. Resultados houve associação entre o grupo de teleoperadores com queixa de distúrbio da voz para os aspectos de condição de trabalho como empresa ruidosa, e para os aspectos de condição de voz: mudança na voz e faltas ao trabalho. Observaram-se diferenças entre a média de sintomas vocais auditivos para: eco na sala, mudança na voz e faltas ao trabalho, assim como se observou entre a média de sintomas vocais sensoriais dos participantes em relação às variáveis: ritmo de trabalho estressante, empresa ruidosa, barulho vindo de outras salas, eco na sala, uso do rádio, mudança na voz e faltas ao trabalho. Conclusão existe associação entre a presença de queixa vocal, o número de sintomas vocais auditivos e sensoriais e as condições de trabalho autorreferidas pelos teleoperadores pesquisados.

Objective:To investigate the location, frequency and intensity of muscle pain in dysphonic functional/organofunctional women in comparison to women with healthy voices.Methods:Sixty women, ranging in age from 18 to 45 years, divided into two groups: Dysphonic Group (DG) – 30 women with functional or organofunctional dysphonia; Non-Dysphonic Group (NDG) – 30 women without vocal complaints, and with adapted voices. All answered a protocol, marking the localization, frequency and intensity symptoms of pain on the temporal area, masseters, submandibular areas, larynx/pharynx, front and back of the neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back, elbows, fists/hands/fingers, hip/this, knees and ankles/feet. The volunteer should report the frequency in which pain was present in the last 12 months: no, rarely, frequently or always. The intensity of pain was measured by visual-analogue scales. The DG and NDG groups were compared using the Mann-Whitney test (p<0.05).Results:The women of the DG reported significantly greater frequency of submandibular area (p=0.008), laryngeal pain (p<0.001), front of the neck (p=0.015), back of the neck (p=0.001), shoulder pain (p=0.027), upper back (p=0.027) and also reported significant greater intensity of pain in the larynx/pharynx (p=0.022) and back of the neck (p=0.003).Conclusion:The frequency and intensity of musculoskeletal pain was more frequent and more intense in dysphonic women than in women without vocal complaints, showing that pain may be related to functional and organofunctional dysphonia in women.

“…The relationship between body ache and vocal use has been approached in studies with voice professional and popular singers, focusing on the pain that are near the region of the larynx, throat pain, neck pain and pain while speaking 25,26 . Table 1 showed that the subjects' perception regarding voice changes during or after the performance are varied and involve functional aspects of voice production, discomforts and a great occurrence of aspects related to self-perception and auditory parameters, linked to disorders in voice quality such as hoarseness, voice breaks, loss of high notes and lower voice.…”
