The improvement of probabilistic assessments of extreme air temperature events is a major goal for agrometeorological studies.The regional frequency analysis based on L-moments (RFA-Lmom) has been successfully used to improve the study of hydrometeorological variables such as extreme rainfall events. This study investigated the hypothesis that the RFA-Lmom can be applied to extreme maximum (Tmax) and minimum (Tmin) air temperature data. The RFA-Lmon was calculated considering its original algorithm (multiplicative approach)and a new procedure referred as to additive approach. The suitability of both approaches was evaluated through Monte Carlo experiments, which simulated homogeneous and heterogeneous groups of Tmin and Tmax series, and through a case study based on weather stations situated in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The results found in this study indicated that the RFA-Lmom can be applied to Tmax and Tmin data in tropical/subtropical regions such as the state of São Paulo. In addition, the additive approach consistently outperformed the multiplicative approach. Both discordance and heterogeneous measures presented their best performances when calculated under this new approach.The original goodness-of-fit measure may also be replaced by its bivariate extension when the group is formed by more than 15 series.

R E S U M OA variação tempo-espacial da evapotranspiração foi analisada por meio de wavelet de Morlet em uma floresta de Vochysia divergens Pohl (Vochysiaceae) localmente conhecida como Cambarazal no Pantantal, no estado do Mato Grosso, Brasil Esta área está inserida na planície fisiografia do Pantanal e é sazonalmente inundada. Foram coletadas variáveis micrometeológicas, como: saldo de radiação, radiação solar incidente, temperatura do ar e umidade relativa do ar. Com referencia à evapotranspiração a análise diária da série temporal por wavelet de Morlet foi satisfatória, possibilitando melhor compreensão na dinâmica da evapotranspiração em área alagável e sua relação com a temperatura do ar, umidade relativa do ar e radiação solar global. Conclui-se que ocorreram, durante a estação úmida, os maiores valores de evapotranspiração e maior intensidade de energia na alta escala de frequência devido provavelmente à maior disponibilidade de água em função da precipitação e inundação, e à radiação global. Analysis of evapotranspiration by Morlet wavelet in area of Vochysia divergens Pohl in Pantanal A B S T R A C TThe temporal-spatial variation of evapotranspiration was analysed using Morlet wavelet in a forest of Vochysia divergens Pohl (locally known as Cambarazal) in Pantanal wetland in Mato Grosso state, Brazil. This area is inserted within the physiographic plain of the Pantanal and is seasonally flooded. The net radiation, solar global radiation, air temperature, and relative humidity data were collected by sensors installed in a micrometeorological tower. The daily analysis of time series by Morlet wavelet for evapotranspiration was satisfactory enabling better understanding of the dynamics of evapotranspiration in wetland and its relation to the air temperature, relative humidity, and solar radiation. It is concluded that during the wet season the highest values of evapotranspiration and higher intensity in the high frequency occured probably due to increased availability of water as a function of rainfall and flooding, and solar radiation. RESUMO -Foram avaliadas as tendências nas séries climáticas e nos índices agroclimáticos para a cultura da videira no Vale do Rio do Peixe-SC. Foram utilizados os dados diários da Estação Meteorológica de Videira do período de 1971 a 2010. As tendências nas séries foram avaliadas pelo teste de Mann-Kendall, e para estimar a magnitude da tendência utilizou-se a declividade mediana, determinada pelo teste de Theil-Sen. Os resultados mostraram tendência de aumento nas séries de temperatura mínima do ar, em escala anual, bem como nas estações do ano. Para a temperatura máxima do ar, houve tendência significativa de aumento na série de temperatura máxima anual e na temperatura máxima no verão e inverno. Também foi observado aumento da frequência de dias quentes e noites quentes. Com relação aos índices agrometeorológicos, foi observada tendência significativa de diminuição do número de geadas, antecipação das datas de brotação, florescimento e colheita, aumento significativo na soma térmica, no índice de Huglin e no índice de frio. Com relação à precipitação, houve tendência significativa de aumento da precipitação total anual e da precipitação no período de crescimento da cultura da videira e do número de dias com chuva igual ou superior a 20 mm. CLIMATE CHANGES AND GRAPE PRODUCTION IN VALE DO RIO DO PEIXE, IN THE STATE OF SANTA CATARINAABSTRACT -Trends in climate series and agro-climatic indices were evaluated for growing vines in Vale do Rio do Peixe, in the state of Santa Catarina. Daily data of the Meteorological Station of Videira for the period from 1971 to 2010 were used. The trend in the series was analyzed with the Mann-Kendall test and to estimate the magnitude of the trend it was used the median slope determined by the Theil-Sen estimator.The results showed an increasing trend in series of minimum air temperature at the annual scale and also in the seasons of the year. The maximum air temperature presented a significant trend of increase in the series of annual maximum temperature and in the maximum temperature in summer and winter. It was also observed an increase in frequency of hot days and hot nights. In terms of agrometeorological indices it was observed a significant trend of decrease in the number of frost events, in the reduction of the time of sprouting, flowering and harvesting, and a significant increase in thermal summation, in the Huglin index, and in the cold index. In relation to precipitation there was a significant trend of increase in the annual total precipitation and in precipitation during the period of growth of the vines as well as the number of days with rainfall amounts equal or higher than 20mm.
