Construções aplicativas em Panará

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the postposition incorporation (Baker 1988) into the verb of the Panará language (Jê family, Macro-Jê stock) to form applicative constructions (Nakamura 1997). The focus are the constructions with incoporated postposition for which a phonetic copy is kept. This analysis is supported by the proposal of Nunes (1999Nunes ( , 2001 * Este trabalho é resultado da pesquisa realizada dentro do projeto "Pesquisas em Sintaxe Minimalista", coordenado pelo Prof. Dr. Jairo Nunes, a que… Show more

“…Morphological exceptionality when duplication is involved is also found in postposition incorporation constructions in Panara, a Brazilian indigenous language. As shown in Dourado 2002, postpositions in Panara may be duplicated just in case they can also undergo standard incorporation. Assuming Nunes's (1999Nunes's ( , 2004 analysis of multiple copies, Dourado argues that this restriction follows if the moved postposition may optionally be fused with the head it has adjoined to, as sketched in (107), becoming invisible to the LCA.…”

“…Dentre estes, podemos citar Dourado (2002) que trata da derivação das aplicativas do Panará (família Jê), sob a ótica da Teoria Gerativa. A investigação das estruturas aplicativas é importante não só para a descrição e análise da morfologia e sintaxe dessas línguas, mas também para a questão de cunho teórico sobre o papel dos núcleos funcionais no licenciamento de argumentos.…”
