Fungos em sementes de plantas ornamentais

Abstract: FUNGI ON SEEDS OF ORNAMENTALSABSTRACT -A study was made to detect the occurrence of fungi on seeds of nine species of herbaceous ornamental species (Dahlia pinnata, Petunia x hybrida, Phlox drummondii, Rudbeckia hirta, Salvia farinacea, S. splendens, Tagetes patula, Viola tricolor and Zinnia elegans) planted in the Federal District of Brazil. Subsamples of 100 seeds of each species, with or without desinfection with 70% alcohol and 1% sodium hypochlorite, were submitted to the blotter test on filter paper to d… Show more

“…For Bellé and Spannenberg (1997) and Barreto et al (2011), the greatest difficulty of the cultivation of floral stem from the seeds in the country is in virtue of the own production of seeds, because they characterize themselves as an activity highly specialized and of domain of international market. In the process of seeds import there is no information in relation to the sanitary quality, and this characterizes a problem that involves since the introduction of pathogens that do not exist in the country yet, as losses in virtue of diseases on seeds, saplings, plants in the field or even in post-harvest.…”

“…Several Curvularia species have been reported in zinnia as a seed pathogen i.e. C. protuberata (Barreto et al, 2011) and Curvularia sp. (Sriwastava and Gupta, 1983;Sing, 2017) and as a minor pathogen on leaves (Stevens et al, 1993) and roots i.e.…”

“…Estos pueden ingresar nuevos patógenos al país. Por ende, la presencia de hongos puede conducir a pérdidas significativas relacionadas con enfermedades, debido al uso de semillas o propágulos contaminados o infectados (Barreto et al, 2011). El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar agentes causales de enfermedades en cladodios de These cacti are subject to pathogen attacks, particularly fungi, that preferentially affect the apical portion of the cladode.…”

“…These can carry new pathogens into the country. Thus, the presence of fungi can lead to significant disease-related losses due to the use of contaminated or infected seeds or propagules (Barreto et al, 2011). The objective of this study was to identify causative agents of diseases in cladodes of mandacaru and spineless mandacaru.…”
