Show more

“…The results presented here are in accordance to those of Matos et al (2008), Pacheco and Matos (2009) and Guedes et al (2013), who showed that the seeds of Apeiba tibourbou resist to prolonged storage and present high germinability after scarification of the tegument. In the present study, the thermal scarification helped in the disinfestation of the explants.…”

“…The moisture content of 40%, associated to temperature of 10 ºC, allowed conservation of seeds of Cupania vernalis Cambess during a period of 240 days (Vieira et al, 2008). Seeds of Apeiba tibourbou Aubl., can be stored under normal environment of laboratory using as packaging either Kraft paper bags or polyethylene bags (Matos et al, 2008). The packaging into cans and maintenance into refrigerator were an adequate condition for storing seeds of Tabebuia roseo-alba and Tabebuia impetiginosa (Borba-Filho and Perez, 2009).…”

“…At these three evaluation times, the average water content of seeds stored in polyethylene bags was higher than that of seeds kept in paper bags (Table 1). Matos et al (2008) verified that the packaging influenced the water content of Apeiba tibourbou seeds only after 90 days of storage, and that seeds stored in polyethylene bags had water content lower than those stored in paper bags, regardless of the environment.…”

“…SME: Standard Mean Error. species, Matos et al (2008) observed that seeds of Apeiba tibourbou with initial water content of 7.62% maintained their percentage of germination when stored either in kraft paper or polyethylene bag. Batista et al (2011) verified the same effect in Cedrela odorata seeds stored with 39.7% water content.…”
