Custo adaptativo da indução de resistência em feijoeiro mediada pela rizobactéria Bacillus cereus ou acibenzolar-S-metil: atividade de enzimas, síntese de fenóis e lignina e biomassa

Abstract: Plants that use resources to defend themselves in the absence of pests or pathogens will pay off with energy costs that can reflect in the productivity. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the fitness costs of the resistance induced in bean plants, before the presence of the pathogen, by using biotic (Bacillus cereus) and abiotic (acibenzolar-S-methyl, ASM) inducers, applied 2, 3 or 4 times during the cycle of the culture. The protecting effect was evaluated against the bacterium Xanthomonas axono… Show more

“…A eficiência do ASM constatada neste trabalho tem sido comprovada no controle de diversas bacterioses como a murcha e a mancha bacteriana do tomateiro, mancha angular do algodoeiro, crestamento bacteriano comum do feijoeiro e mancha bacteriana do maracujazeiro (Araújo et al, 2005;Cavalcanti et al, 2006;Ishida et al, 2008;Zacaroni, 2008;Medeiros et al, 2009;Kuhn & Pascholati, 2010;Boro et al, 2011;Junqueira et al, 2011).…”

“…O acibenzolar-S-metil (ASM) é o ativador de resistência mais estudado e tem sido efetivo no controle de bacterioses, tais como a murcha bacteriana e a mancha bacteriana do tomateiro (Araújo et al, 2005;Cavalcanti et al, 2006), mancha angular do algodoeiro (Ishida et al, 2008;Zacaroni, 2008), crestamento bacteriano comum do feijoeiro (Kuhn & Pascholati, 2010) e mancha bacteriana do maracujazeiro (Junqueira et al, 2011;Boro et al, 2011).…”

“…This phenomenon, called systemic resistance induction (SRI) or acquired systemic resistance (ASR) implicates in the activation of plant defense mechanisms, in response to exposure to biotic or abiotic agents. These resistance mechanisms may include the accumulation of phytoalexins and proteins related to the pathogenesis process, such as β1.3 glucanases, chitinases and peroxidase (KUHN & PASCHOLATI et al, 2010).…”

“…This disease causes depressed lesions in young plant tissues that cause the damping off of the seedling, but it may also occur before the emergence of the plant, showing a reduction at the booth of seeding, in this case presented damping-off in preemergence. Alternative methods for disease control stand through the use of inductors or elicitors that induce plant resistance to pathogens (MAZARO et al, 2009;KUHN;PASCHOLATI, 2010).…”
