Sacarose no laboratório de química orgânica de graduação

Abstract: Recebido em 22/9/00; aceito em 10/5/01 SUCROSE IN UNDERGRADUATE ORGANIC CHEMISTRY LABORATORY. An experiment showing the readily available disaccharide (sucrose) as reagent for experiments in undergraduate chemistry laboratory is described. The preparation of 2,3:4,5-di-O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructopyranose from sucrose is very simple, uses low cost materials, requires two periods of 4 hours and is useful for classroom support in undergraduate courses. Keywords: chemical education; carbohydrate; sucrose; fructose.… Show more

“…The organic phase was separated and washed consecutively with sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO 3 ) and water and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate (Na 2 SO 4 ). The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure until obtaining a white solid, which was crystallized in hexane with 30% final yield after filtration through activated charcoal [19].…”
