“…Among these, there were two types of studies: those concerning the role of SRPB in people dealing with illness, trauma or an epidemic and those relating to the SQoL of non-specific populations. In this second category, we find seven publications concerning academic populations, mainly students (Chai et al, 2012e t al., 2012 ; Hsien-Chuan Hsu et al, 2009 ; Krägeloh et al, 2015 ; Krageloh et al 2015 ; Lopez et al, 2014 ; Younis et al, 2012 ), 10 focusing on unspecified populations (Catré et al, 2019 ; Chan et al, 2017 ; Group, 2006 ; Hammer et al, 2020 ; Kate et al, 2014 ; O’Connell & Skevington, 2005 ; Skevington & Böhnke, 2018 ; Skevington et al, 2013 , 2018 ; Zimpel et al, 2019 ) and two studies with French participants (Mandhouj et al, 2012 , 2014 ). Overall, these studies show significant differences between respondents for some variables.…”

“…In this way, the contribution of the present study to the advances in this area of study is highlighted, with the evaluation of a more complex instrument, in addition to measures of declared religion and religious practice among adolescents. Future studies can also be carried out considering the short version of the scale, which was recently evaluated in psychometric terms in a sample of adults (Zimpel et al, 2019). The investment to provide instruments that assess spirituality is fundamental for conducting research studies with adolescents that address, for example, the relationship with aspects of health, quality of life, well-being, resilience and decisionmaking and behaviors (Chen & VanderWeele, 2018;Michaelson et al, 2019;Panzini et al, 2017).…”

“…Currently, an effort by researchers has been observed to provide measures that evaluate spirituality and its correlates, seeking to fill the lack of instruments in this area to allow for the advancement of new studies, especially in Brazil (Lucchetti, Lucchetti & Vallada, 2013;Strelhow & Sarriera, 2018;Zimpel, Panzini, Bandeira, Fleck & Rocha, 2019). It should be noted, however, that the vast majority of instruments available in Portuguese have been adapted or developed for use in adults.…”

“… 33 The Brazilian Portuguese version of this instrument has been previously validated and showed adequate psychometric properties, comparable to its extended version and its version in English. 34 This instrument consists of eight items that showed the best psychometric properties of the 32-item WHOQoL-SRPB plus one item taken from the psychological domain of the WHOQoL-bref, scored from 1 to 5. In the present study, the SRPB-9 scale had a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.87.…”

“…Measured by the 9-item SRPB module of the WHOQoL-SRPB-bref, an abbreviated scale derived from the WHOQoL group instrument WHOQoL-SRPB for the assessment of SRPB within QoL 33. The Brazilian Portuguese version of this instrument has been previously validated and showed adequate psychometric properties, comparable to its extended version and its version in English 34. This instrument consists of eight items that showed the best psychometric properties of the 32-item WHOQoL-SRPB plus one item taken from the psychological domain of the WHOQoL-bref, scored from 1 to 5.…”
