Students' collaborative thinking skills in the elementary schools still need attention to be improved. Most elementary school students have difficulty in cultivating this skill. Even though, this skill is one of the 21st century skills, namely 4C (creative thinking skill, critical thinking skill, communication skill and collaborative thinking skill). This study aims to improve the students collaboration thinking skills under the implementation of a cooperative learning type, namely a quantum teaching model. This research was conducted by using quasi experiment in the form of non-equivalent (pre-test and post-test) control group design. The sample in this study were students of the Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Al-Musabbihin, Medan City, totaling 55 students. To test the difference of the students' collaborative thinking skills in the control class and experiment class under the implementation of quantum teaching model, we used statistics analysis tools, namely homogeneity test and independent sample t-test. The results of Levene Statistic for homogeneity test showed a significance value of 0.762 > 0.05, which means the two classes are homogeneous. The independent sample t-test showed that the score is 0.007 < 0.05, which implies the difference between the two classes is significant. It concludes that the implementation of quantum teaching model can improve the students' collaboration thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education Learning. Therefore, increasing the teachers skills in developing quantum teaching learning materials needs to be improved simultaneously through government policy programs or independently through deliberation activities for teachers of Islamic religious education subjects.
Astronomy is counted as a natural science that always gets the most attention of humans all the time. Lately, in Indonesia began to appear astronomical observatories that examine various things. The Falak Observatory of the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (OIF UMSU) is one that has played an important role in the development of astronomy in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra. In this observatory there are classical and modern astronomical tools. Among the role and contribution of this observatory is to provide information for students about the phenomenon and importance of astronomy, then training for students, astronomy studies, and others. The existence of this observatory is basically an appreciation of science and technology that are part of civilization.
Pengembangan karakter anak usia dini harus menjadi prioritas. Karena saat ini, karakter bangsa kita sudah mengalami reduksi di seluruh lini kehidupan. Apalagi metode bercerita yang digunakan dalam mengembangkan karakter anak kurang maksimal. Hasil observasi, guru di TK ABA Aisyiyah se Kota Medan juga belum maksimal menggunakan metode bercerita tersebut untuk mengembangkan karakter anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan prototype model pengembangan bercerita dengan teknik Chain Story. Subjek penelitiannya adalah para guru TK ABA di Kota Medan. Metode penelitiannya menggunakan analisis dokumen, observasi, wawancara, dan FGD. Teknik Chain Story dilakukan berpusat pada anak, guru sebagai pemantik cerita berdurasi singkat. Anak bebas bercerita dengan kata-kata, cara, dan gayanya sendiri. Namun, kontennya tetap sesuai dengan tema dan tujuan pembelajaran yang telah ditetapkan. Guru mengawasi jalannya pembelajaran, menilai kemampuan dan karakter saat anak sedang bercerita. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada penerapan metode bercerita yang tidak lagi berpusat pada guru, tetapi menjadi berpusat pada anak (Child Centered-Learning)
Recreation and joy are considered as the basic needs of humans. When the human body and soul get tired, they yearn refreshment through various means. Since the primary goal of Islam is true perfection of humans and achieving higher meaning and purpose in life, the happiness emphasised in this school of thought must be such that it does not conflict with the goal of creation and the ultimate perfection of humans. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the role of Islamic spirituality in the happiness of 5000 citizens of Volga Federal District in Russia. The statistical population of the study was selected by simple random sampling method and the collected data was analysed by Structural Equation Modelling method in the LISREL software. The results indicated the positive role of Islamic spirituality in determining the happiness among citizens (Path Coefficient: 0.821; T value: 24.83). Hence, human beings should look for happiness in life through circumstances that can control the critical factors and create the ground for happiness and self-esteem, which is nothing but religion, religious actions and behaviours, and spirituality. Therefore, in order to experience greater happiness and to be immune to anxiety and depression, one should follow the religion and Islamic spirituality, and achieve a greater sense of happiness by remembering God and performing religious actions and behaviours.Contribution: This article contributes to the relationship between happiness, human body and religious beliefs.
Recently, Madrasa education development, especially in Islamic countries like Indonesia, has become a significant issue that needs the attention of academic and regulators alike. Therefore, the present research examines the impact of government support and human resource (HR) improvement on Madrasa education development in Indonesia. The researchers also investigate the moderating role of institutional policies among the nexus of government support, HR improvement and Madrasa education development in Indonesia. The researchers have followed the primary data collection approach using questionnaires for data collection from the selected respondents. The present article also uses the smart-PLS to evaluate the relations among variables and the validity of the constructs. The results indicate that government support and HR improvement have a positive association with Madrasa education development in Indonesia. The results also revealed that institutional policies significantly moderate among the nexus of government support, HR improvement and Madrasa education development in Indonesia. These outcomes are meaningful for the Madrasa developing and regulating authorities while formulating rules and regulations regarding Madrasa education development in the country.
