Improving Students’ Collaboration Thinking Skill Under the Implementation of the Quantum Teaching Model

Abstract: Students' collaborative thinking skills in the elementary schools still need attention to be improved. Most elementary school students have difficulty in cultivating this skill. Even though, this skill is one of the 21st century skills, namely 4C (creative thinking skill, critical thinking skill, communication skill and collaborative thinking skill). This study aims to improve the students collaboration thinking skills under the implementation of a cooperative learning type, namely a quantum teaching model. Th… Show more

“…This result is attributed to the use of learning methods used by students capable of solving problems related to the materials being taught in depth. Based on the data obtained, it appears that there is an increase in student learning outcomes, both at the individual or class level (Nahar et al, 2022;Umamah et al, 2020). Thus, learning using the Quantum Learning model was successful in improving student learning outcomes.…”

“…This research adopts the Quantum Learning model. Quantum Learning fosters an effective learning environment by utilizing elements present within students and their surroundings, promoting interaction within the classroom (Altın & Saracaloğlu, 2019;Khozaei et al, 2022;Nahar et al, 2022;Umamah et al, 2020). This approach, as described by DePorter and Hernacki, underscores the pivotal role of learning methods in enhancing performance across various domains (Hernacki, n.d.).…”

“…The following are some fundamental ideas in creative learning: Problem solving and critical thinking, project-based learning, the use of technology in the classroom, student-centered learning, continuous learning and reflection, and authentic assessment. Nahar et al (2022) also offer examples of learning models that exhibit constructivist paradigm tendencies, including models for reasoning and problem solving, inquiry training, problem-based instruction, change learning, conceptual models, and models for group investigation. Tibahary (2018) provides an explanation of the various forms of novel learning models, including Contextual, Cooperative, and Quantum learning models.…”

“…The problems/troubles are accessing the technology (teachers, students) (Dinh and Nguyen, 2020), communication among teachers, students, families and school administrators (Faherty et al, 2019), improving digital competences, preparing content and using the digital materials (teachers) (Darazha et al, 2021), transforming learning content and assessment into distance education (El Firdoussi et al, 2020) , motivating students to participate in the lessons (Capone and Lepore, 2022), preparing digital tools according to lessons and needs, using the digital tools to help students mental health and physiological problems (Lattie et al, 2019), helping students how to develop their skills (cooperation, critical thinking etc.) (Nahar, 2022;Plummer et al, 2022), digital ethics and security, making digitally accurate and reliable measurement, assessment and evaluation, ensuring continuity of education under all conditions. All schools and organizations have a risk management plan but this covid-19 process has proved that not known how to manage the risk successfully.…”
