The evidence support the existence of oxygen deprivation involved in pregnancy disorder or preeclampsia. The intensive hypoxia also regulates production of placental pro-inflammatory cytokines. Quercitrin belongs to flavonoid group is known to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. This study aims to determine the potential of Quercitrin as anti-inflammatory in hypoxia-induced EA.hy926 as preeclampsia model. The cytotoxic assay of Quercitrin against EA.hy926 was conducted using MTS (3-4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium). The data were analyzed using SPSS ver 20.0 software. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was conducted, followed Tukey HSD post-hoc test and p<0.05 was considered to be significant. The anti-inflammatory potential of Quercitrin (25 and 6.25 μg/ml) toward hypoxia-induced EA.hy926 was determined using ELISA to measure IL-10 and TNF-α. Quercitrin (3.13 - 25 μg/ml) were nontoxic to the EA.hy926 cells. Quercitrin (25 and 6.25 μg/ml) were capable to reduce TNF-α compared to positive control (2% O2 hypoxia-induced cells) but no significant increase in IL-10. Our study suggests that quercitrin possess anti-inflammatory properties through suppression of TNF-α in hypoxia-induced EA.hy926 cells.
Insulin resistance is a condition with damage to target organs that generally respond to the activity of the hormone insulin. About 10% of the population in big cities in Indonesia suffer from insulin resistance. At the cellular level, insulin resistance can result from damage to the pre-receptor, receptor, or post-receptor. The most common cause of insulin resistance is post-receptor damage, namely disruption and damage to insulin signaling pathways. To find out that the methanol extract of Sunkist orange peel can reduce blood sugar levels in Wistar rats. This research uses the experimental laboratory method in vivo with the chosen research design form, namely True Experimental Pre Test and Post Test Control. The Kruskal Wallis test showed that the Sunkist Orange Peel Methanol Extract resulted in a significant decrease in blood sugar levels of Wistar rats with a p-value <0.05, and also the Anova test showed that the Sunkist Orange Peel Methanol Extract resulted in a decrease in blood sugar levels of Wistar rats, which is significant with p-value <0.05. All doses tested affect lowering blood sugar levels, namely, 300 mg/kg BW, 450 mg/kg BW, and 600 mg/kg BW.
The performance of health workers at RSU Royal Prima is experiencing a fluctuating trend so that it is still not optimal in providing services to patients and organizational responsibilities. Factors that are suspected to be related to the performance of health workers are individual, psychological, and organizational variables. This study aims to analyze the factors related to the performance of health workers. This type of research is quantitative analytic using a cross sectional design. The research was conducted at RSU Royal Prima Medan. The research population was 651 people, while the sample was 100 people. Sampling by means of simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate with chi-square test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression at 95% confidence level (=0.05). The results showed that the factors related to the performance of health workers at RSU Royal Prima Medan were abilities and skills (p=0.015), motivation (p=0.033), leadership (p=0.024), and rewards (p=0.044). Factors that were not related were age (p=1.000), gender (p=1.000), perception (p=0.240), attitude (p=0.163), and job design (p=0.464). The most dominant variable relates to the performance of health workers, namely leadership. Health workers who stated good leadership had the opportunity to have good performance 8.2 times higher than health workers who stated poor leadership. It is recommended that the management of RSU Royal Prima Medan conduct continuous performance assessments of health workers.
Kata kunci: Kesemek (Dyospyros kaki L.), antibakteri, Escherichia coli Abstract : Persimmon (Dyospyros kaki L.) is a fruit that is in highland (mountain) plants. Can grow anywhere at low temperatures, high humidity, the intensity of the sun is not 100% (shade / cloudy). This fruit contains compounds that have antimicrobial potential which inhibits the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of persimmon extract on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria at concentrations of 100%, 90%, 80%, 70%, 60%, and 50%. This study was an experimental laboratory with disc diffusion method. The parameters measured were the size of the minimum inhibition zone and the optimum zone of extract inhibition against bacteria. The results showed persimmon fruit extracts had antibacterial effectiveness in Escherichia coli, where the minimum inhibition zone was at a concentration of 70% (6.1 mm) and the optimum inhibition zone averaged at a concentration of 100% (8.8 mm). The higher the concentration of extract given, the greater the antibacterial power. These results indicate that persimmon fruit extract has a weak antibacterial effectiveness against the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria according to the classification of bacterial inhibitory zone responses. Keywords: Persimmon (Dyospyros kaki L.), antibacterial, Escherichia coli
