Introdução: A astronomia é uma das ciências mais antigas e influenciou diversas atividades, tornando-se, ao longo do tempo, uma das ciências mais importantes para o ser humano. Devido a isso, a necessidade de fabricar instrumentos precisos foi se tornando essencial para medir com maior exatidão o movimento dos astros. Entretanto, apesar desta destacada importância histórica, atualmente grande parte das escolas de Ensino Básico não possui propostas de utilização de telescópios, quer seja por falta de equipamentos quer seja por falta de preparo docente. Na tentativa de mitigar esse problema, o Laboratório de Ensino e Pesquisa em Astronomia da Universidade Estadual do Ceará tem realizado atividades de extensão que levam às escolas seminários de astronomia e observações astronômicas. Metodologia: Neste sentido, o presente trabalho objetiva apresentar a experiência de uma dessas atividades na qual foi realizado um seminário sobre o Sol seguido de uma observação desse astro com utilização de telescópio. Resultados: Este relato de experiência foi construído a partir das descrições da sequência didática do seminário e da observação do comportamento dos alunos e de seu interesse na observação astronômica. No seminário, foram abordados, de forma considerada adequada à exposição para o Ensino Básico, os temas medidas astronômicas, Sistema Solar e características e estrutura do Sol. A prática de observação foi realizada com telescópio newtoniano equipado com filtro solar. Destaca-se que foi possível observar manchas solares. Conclusões: A grande maioria dos alunos manifestou surpresa ao observar a cor branca do Sol e as manchas solares, mesmo tendo sido isso mencionado no seminário. Considera-se que práticas como a apresentada neste trabalho são muito importantes para aumentar o interesse dos alunos nos temas abordados. Além disso, como a astronomia tem caráter fortemente interdisciplinar, é possível utilizar-se desse interesse para fomentar a aprendizagem de outras áreas de conhecimento.
RESUMOIntrodução: A cosmologia busca compreender a evolução, a estrutura e a composição do Universo em suas maiores escalas. Assim, a cosmologia pretende abordar algumas das questões mais profundas que a humanidade busca responder, como a origem e o destino final do Universo. Metodologia: Este trabalho realizou-se a partir de uma revisão da literatura em trabalhos acadêmicos a fim de estudar a evolução das soluções do paradoxo. Resultados: Em meados do Século XX, acreditava-se que o espaço era infinito, estático e continha infinitas estrelas. Entretanto, desta maneira, qualquer linha de visão em direção ao espaço coincidiria com uma estrela de forma que o céu noturno deveria ser, portanto, extremamente brilhante, mesmo considerando a diminuição do brilho com a distância. Sendo assim, como explicar a evidente constatação que o céu é escuro durante a noite? Este problema é conhecido como o Paradoxo de Olbers (PO), em homenagem ao astrônomo amador alemão, Heinrich Olbers (apesar dele não ter sido o primeiro a descrevê-lo). Este enigma perdurou por vários anos. Diversos astrônomos, como Kepler, tentaram elaborar uma resposta para o problema. Até o momento, o PO não foi completamente resolvido, mas várias ideias foram propostas para tentar explicar a escuridão do céu noturno: uma hipótese é que a absorção e espalhamento da luz por partículas de poeira e gás interestelar pode ser responsável por reduzir significativamente a quantidade de luz que atinge a Terra; outra, é que a finitude da idade do Universo e a expansão do espaço-tempo limitam a quantidade de luz que pode chegar até nós. Conclusão: Neste sentido, pode-se dizer que a tentativa de resolução do PO desempenhou um papel essencial no desenvolvimento da cosmologia moderna, visto que levou à percepção de que o Universo não é infinito e estático, mas na verdade está se expandindo e evoluindo.
Introdução: A observação dos astros celestes foi fundamental para o desenvolvimento das sociedades. Com este conhecimento foi possível, por exemplo, regular o trabalho agrícola e predizer quando ocorreriam as marés, a floração e a reprodução dos animais. No contexto dos povos indígenas, a astronomia é uma tradição e ajuda a descrever a maneira como esses povos conduziam o próprio cotidiano, construindo calendários a partir do movimento do Sol, da Lua e das constelações. Objetivo: Neste contexto, este trabalho objetivou apresentar alguns conhecimentos indígenas de astronomia que podem ser usados como motivadores para seu estudo no Ensino Básico. Com isso, busca-se incentivar a exploração de estratégias e a produção de materiais abrangendo os conhecimentos de povos indígenas, com a intenção de que sejam levados às salas de aula da Educação Básica. Metodologia: O presente trabalho foi realizado a partir de um levantamento bibliográfico realizado por meio da leitura de artigos científicos, norteado pela temática da etnoastronomia e selecionados pelo critério de utilização de atividades envolvendo conhecimentos indígenas. Resultados: São apresentados os resultados de uma pesquisa acerca do reconhecimento das contribuições de culturas bem conhecidas e cuja história é abordada no Ensino Básico; aponta-se que foram mais associadas com a astronomia as culturas maia, a grega e egípcia. Além disso, apresenta-se uma atividade que utiliza o gnomon como instrumento fomentador da introdução de conhecimentos de astronomia indígena. Conclusões: Um dos pontos percebidos na realização deste trabalho é a dificuldade em acessar o conhecimento dos povos tradicionais (e ainda mais dos povos indígenas), que, muitas vezes, é preterido no Ensino Básico e na academia de forma geral (embora haja recentes movimentos de mudança desse quadro). Isso é considerado danoso em vistas de uma educação inclusiva, uma vez que privilegia certas culturas em detrimento de outras. Palavras-chave: Ensino de Astronomia. Ensino Básico. Povos tradicionais. INTRODUÇÃO:Entender o movimento dos planetas é um dos objetivos mais antigos da humanidade e influenciou várias civilizações. Ao longo do tempo, vários cientistas se destacaram nesse estudo, desenvolvendo teorias ou fazendo observações mais precisas. A maneira como mede-se o tempo, a percepção visual e a própria existência terrestre estão diretamente ligadas às condições existentes no Sistema Solar. OBJETIVOS: Neste sentido, o presente trabalho objetivou elucidar alguns aspectos mecânicos do movimento planetário no Sistema Solar a partir da comparação das informações já conhecidas e catalogadas desses planetas com os resultados teóricos obtidos a partir da Teoria da Gravitação Universal de Newton, que explica esse movimento analiticamente, além dos princípios de conservação envolvidos. METODOLOGIA: Para isso, foram utilizados dados obtidos nos repositórios acadêmicos. Além disso, foi necessário explorar os principais resultados analíticos obtidos por Kepler e Newton que formularam leis, aceitas até hoje, que conseguem representar o movimento planetário. RESULTADOS: O momento angular é uma grandeza física que mede a quantidade de movimento dos corpos em rotação. Destaca-se o momento angular orbital dos planetas Júpiter (61%) e Saturno (25%), que corresponde a 85% de todos os planetas. Isso se deve à grande massa desses planetas, bem como a grande distância deles ao Sol. CONCLUSÃO: O conhecimento dessas informações é importante não apenas para caracterizar o movimento observado, mas também para evidenciar o acerto das teorias supramencionadas e prever efemérides astronômicas com maior precisão. Além disso, sabe-se que teorias abordadas neste trabalho provocaram quebras de certos paradigmas científicos em seu tempo, como a ideia da órbita necessariamente circular.Palavras-chave: Movimento planetário, Gravitação newtoniana, Momento angular, órbitas planetárias, Princípios de conservação.
INTRODUÇÃO:Ao observar o céu noturno, imagina-se que as estrelas estão distantes e sozinhas no espaço, mas frequentemente elas fazem parte de um sistema múltiplo estelar. O estudo dos Sistemas Binários Estelares (SBE) é importante para avançar nossa compreensão da astrofísica de forma a, por exemplo, entender os mecanismos de evolução estelar, medição de massas das estrelas além de teorias físicas fundamentais. OBJETIVOS: Este trabalho busca definir as características gerais de SBE e a sua importância na astrofísica contemporânea. METODOLOGIA: Para isso, realizou-se uma revisão da literatura com base em artigos acadêmicos, livros e dissertações norteadas pelo tema. RESULTADOS: Um Sistema Binário Estelar é definido como duas estrelas que orbitam o centro de massa comum. As estrelas em um sistema binário podem apresentar tamanhos, temperaturas e idades diferentes, podendo também estar em diferentes estágios de seus ciclos de vida -alguns sistemas binários consistem em uma estrela normal e um remanescente estelar como uma anã branca ou uma estrela de nêutrons. Os sistemas binários são comuns no Universo: cerca de metade de todas as estrelas catalogadas estão em sistemas binários ou múltiplos. O avanço tecnológico possibilitou o estudo desses sistemas, tornando-os mais facilmente identificáveis por diferentes métodos. Esses métodos estão classificados de duas maneiras: a primeira pelo modo de como as estrelas são observadas, dividindo os sistemas binários em quatro tipos: visuais, eclipsantes, espectroscópicos e astrométricos; a segunda é do ponto de vista morfológico, com base no conceito de superfície Lagrangeana e lóbulo de Roche, que divide os sistemas em três tipos: binários de contato, semi contato e destacados. CONCLUSÃO: Considera-se que o estudo dos SBE é de grande importância visto que é uma das principais fontes para a determinação de parâmetros estelares fundamentais, como massa, magnitude, etc, permitindo o estudo de fenômenos mais complexos como a transferência de massa e a formação de sistemas planetários.
