This study departs from the thought that the implementation of new technology should consider the local context or the concept of “genius loci”. Based on this conception, this study is aimed to investigate whether the implementation of the current technology (here is PV technology) can be in accordance with the initial local traditional architectural form. To accommodate that objective, the roof form of the Sundanese traditional house called “Julang Ngapak”, located in West Java, was studied to analyse its particular orientation, North and South in regards to the solar incident level. The campus building of Bina Nusantara University, located in Jakarta, was selected for the study of PV roof implementation. The method of the study is simulation by applying the EnergyPlus software. There are three types of PV roof which were simulated to investigate the electricity production of the solar cell. The final deliveries of this study are to compare and to analyse the solar irradiance arrive on each type of roof and to define the most appropriate roof form in terms of orientation for implementing the BIPV concept on building particularly in Jakarta region.
Natural ventilation is the process of replacing air in the room with fresh air from outside the room without the help of mechanical equipment. The use of natural ventilation in a building in addition to producing healthier and more comfortable spaces can also increase energy efficiency. The shape of the building and the position of the openings determine the natural ventilation operation method. The principle of ventilation shows how the exterior and interior air flow is connected. Kleiven in his thesis entitled Natural Ventilation in Buildings (2003) revealed that there are 3 principles of natural ventilation. Those are single sided ventilation, cross ventilation, and stack ventilation. [10].

Abstract. Technical drawing is a step that is absolutely necessary to be mastered by the architects in presenting their product in design development phase. The easy readiness and completeness of information in a drawing determine the quality and timeliness of a project. An incomplete engineering drawing is difficult to read by foreman or craftsman, and the risk of misunderstanding of the drawing will cos t expensive and have potential risk to create many bad implications in the project. Unfortunately, the knowledge and skill of drawing technique are often not completely mastered by most students. On the other hand, according to the regional development situation in architectural and construction issue, the drawing standards must be fully utilized in international standards in order to facilitate cooperative work involving workers and engineers from these region countries. This research will be described some errors that often made by students and of international drafting symbols that supposed to be well used by students and then insert multi-media resources as digital enrichment material that supposed to be used as an additional material. The goal of this s tudy will be to examine how multi-media is employed to positively impact student learning in a Building Technology course.
One of the challenges for educators in the future is that educators are faced with students with high technological mastery abilities. Advances in the business and entertainment sectors drive the evolution of computer equipment with increasingly sophisticated technology that can make things easier. The development of equipment that supports virtual reality technology is also increasingly modern and realistic, so that the use and the utilization of virtual reality technology can also be widened in various disciplines. Researchers and educators also start competing to explore their potential, develop pedagogical strategies, create teaching materials, and build technology-based and educational infrastructure to find learning systems that are more likely by students and can present high-quality, easy and fun education. In this study, it will be reviewed how the role of Virtual reality technology can help students in understanding the science of building construction. Through combination the use of tools such as VR Gear, 360 cameras and digital computer design, it is expected that various methods that are appropriate, convenient and easy for students.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
